The objective of Shore Jewish Academy is to create a warm, healthy and happy environment where small children can grow and develop emotionally, cognitively and physically. The formative years of early childhood are vitally important. A child is viewed as a plant that we nurture with utmost care, since the seedling's every experience will shape and color the quality of its matured self.
The seeds of learning, self identity, curiosity and exploration are planted in the preschool years. Shore Jewish Academy's curriculum is designed to encourage an atmosphere of inspiration and growth in an environment filled with joy, laughter, moral values, and developmental and academic excellence.

The Reggio Emilia Approach is a progressive approach to early childhood education. It emphasizes hands-on discovery learning and values the child as independent, capable, and rich with wonder, potential and knowledge. Our teachers are able to reach every learner in their class by respecting their individual learning processes.
Our teachers are an unusually dedicated group of professionals whose commitment to the growth and well being of each of their students permeates every aspect of the learning experience. Our educators are certified and credentialed early childhood specialists who model kindness, respect, compassion, confidence and responsibility.
Our comprehensive and developmentally appropriate program is designed to promote each child's intellectual, social, physical and emotional growth. All games and activities are skill-based and goal oriented, so that the children grow with everything that they do. The curriculum at our school is based on age-appropriate developmentally accepted practice.
The children gather together at circle time to greet their classmates and teachers. We begin early math readiness skills through our discussions about the day, month and year during calendar time. This is also the time when new learning units are introduced and discussed. Play is a vehicle of growth for the young child.
During this year, our three year olds skills and abilities expand exponentially. Like sponges, they thirstily absorb new knowledge and experiences. They are provided with a wide array of sensory activities, a rich language environment, and a stimulating curriculum. Social skills, empathy and independence are fostered at this stage.
