If you have ever undergone eye surgery, a trained ophthalmologist has done the work. Ophthalmology focuses on treating diseases and conditions that affect the anatomy and physiology of the eye. What this means is that an ophthalmologist takes care of both surgical procedures and medical care for the eye.

Had the worst experience here recently. I understand Corona guidelines are making scheduling very serious but how I was treated today was absolutely unacceptable. During Corona it is very difficult for me to get around as an 18 year old with parents that do not drive with everything being a "wait in your car" thing and drive thru. I had my appointment at 9 am and had called ahead of time to say that I was going to be late and was already on the bus. Today, I took my mother for her annually eyes exam to Dr. Jansen's office. Appointment was on time and we did not have to wait that much. The stuff was alright, I will say. Dr. Jansen took his time with my mother. My mother does not know English but that was not a problem for him. I was translating and noticed all the time how nice and patient he was with her. He checked her eyes twice. I am very jealous because the day I went for my eyes exam, Dr. Jansen was not in the office. Instead, Dr. Brian conducted my eyes exam. UPDATE: Dr. Iwata is no longer there. Dr Jansen's office helped to get my glasses fixed, so I can completely recommend them!!!!!
Dr Jansen and his staff are amazing! However, stay away from Dr. Nelson Iwata. My appointment with him was horrible and the prescriptions he gave me, I can't use. $400 wasted because he wouldn't listen to me, refused to answer my questions and at one point snapped at me that I was "making excuses". Make sure you aren't assigned to Iwata - he doesn't care about his patients.
