We started in the Auction industry in the mid 1990's motivated by a new technology called on-line sales. In an effort to maximize the value of such items we have a full blown e-Bay operation ready to handle your needs. We photograph, research, catalog, list, pack, and ship your items.
Estate & Downsizing Specialists has the experience to assist individuals and professionals in making decisions regarding the various aspects of estate, trusts, and guardianship management. We often see companies come into an estate and pick the high value items for an auction, leaving everything else to be dealt with.
When the logistics, location and timing are right, a professional estate tag sale can be a fantastic way to sell personal property. We believe that this method of selling is often the best for downsizing or whole house selling events. This type of sale reaches a broad market of people, and we frequently see many of our professional auction buyers as well.
One of our specialties is property clean outs. We know what is valuable, what needs to be disposed of and what needs to be secured. Many of our clients have us do an initial clean out of food stuffs, perishables, refrigerators, freezers, pet items; anything that may cause a problem with odors, insects or contamination during the sometimes lengthy period of time it takes to make decisions on the next steps to completion.

Seller beware. I had a collection of U.S. Navy silverware. When it was picked up with some Heisey Glass around June 2021, I gave specific instruction to the people picking up my stuff, do not sell my Navy silverware for less than $1500. All the silverware was in a Reed and Barton silverware wood chest. I paid $125 for the chest at Macy's. There were 120 pieces
of silverware and was sold for $52.50 and the Heisey Glass they just gave it away. A ripoff of my trust because I was lead to believe that they would get the best deal for my items. Lesson learned.

I feel quite lucky to have found EDS a few months before actually having to work with them. When the time came unexpectedly, Brian Sample (owner) and his team were able to work our needs into his schedule, accomplish all of the many jobs that we needed right on time. I can’t say enough good things about this invaluable service and the fine people there. This is a great example of experience matters, and they’ve got it.

Due to relocation we had them clear many of our possessions. A small truck full of antiques and collectibles in January 2021. These items were to go to several auctions over the next couple of months. We got out first check from the first set of auctions in May and then the checks stopped. We inquired about our remaining items and we were told there was a family death and we would be paid in August. We have followed up several times and it they have been unresponsive until we received a message that they received our messaged but are too busy. We, at this point do both believe we are going to be

Please be careful, this is a business that only cares about your money not taking care of the customer. Once they where paid they took shortcuts in packaging the items for shipment. The lack of care resulted in the package breaking open and losing several of the items. The mailman was shocked at such complete disregard. I have attached pictures of the package how received. Here is a word to the wise , if they have such complete disregard for such a simple task what other short cuts are they taking in representing you. Will they expose you more serious liability than I received? I thankfully only

We were overwhelmed thinking about cleaning out my parents’ home of 45 plus years, but luckily we found Brian and his team at Estate & Downsizing Specialists LLC. They were professional, knowledgeable, efficient, friendly, and compassionate. They cleaned out a completely full house with basement, garage and barn in less than four days. Company misrepresents the condition of items listed of sale at their auctions. EXAMPLES: I bought 4 clocks listed as in "good overall condition" 3 did not work at all, two were missing parts. Bought 5 electronic component listed as "powers on" that had no power cords. Brian Sample says they are too busy to be held responsible for listing mistakes.
