Dr. Kevin M. Trainor received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry and his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Colorado, Denver. Dr. Julie Ngan received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry and her Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Berkeley.
Doctors Trainor, Ngan and Sung are dedicated to providing the highest level of eyecare. The doctors listen to your concerns and take their time to provide you with an accurate prescription for your vision needs. The comprehensive eye exam includes glaucoma and cataract testing, assessment of the external and internal structures of the eye to detect ocular and systemic diseases, binocular testing and visual field testing.
We LOVE our Willow Glen Community! Throughout our 20 years on the Avenue, we have supported our local schools by sponsorships and sunglass contributions to their silent auctions. Please support your local school fundraisers! This annual community event benefits Willow Glen Elementary and other local schools.

I wanted to acknowledge Ashley and the Optometrist for the outstanding customer service they provided. The Dr was pleasant, engaging and professional. She explained each test and what the results were. It was never rushed. I was impressed with the Dr's patient care.
Ashley greeted me with a smile and a warm greeting. She handled the initial insurance paperwork, preliminary tests and finally the frame selection. I found her to be pleasant and helpful throughout my visit. Thank you for a pleasant experience.

Dr ngan is very dedicated to her patients and provides excellent care. On Sunday Valentine's Day she responded within 30 minutes to help me onsite with a scratched cornea. The pain was unbearable and I would have spent many hours in the ER. After her treatment I am feeling much better. I highly recommend her.

I came to VisualEyes to get my prescription filled based on their stellar reviews and the amazing pun in their name (turned out to be an eye-mazing combo though, I wonder which one it was...?).
The service was very professional and I was able to get the frames of my choice ordered from the manufacturer. The glasses were ready well within the expected time frame. They kept me updated every step of the way. I got both prescription glasses and sunglasses. The entire staff at Visual Eyes (especially Monica and Lisa) are very knowledgeable and friendly. They go the extra mile to help me maximize my insurance plan which I really appreciate. I've walked by this office many times and always admired their creative window displays. I finally needed to go see an eye doctor and decided to give them a try since they are so close to my home. I was a little hesitant due to the wide range of reviews on Yelp. My experience was very positive. They were busy and had to book my appointment out a few weeks in advance but I was not in a hurry. One person in particular, Monica, acts entitled both through the phone and in person. Her hostile tone is not welcoming and makes you feel belittle. She talks to you as if you should know and understand everything about the business. The store front service is trash. If I could give zero stars I would. I'm only writing this as a warning to others. Only reason why I came her was because this is what my insurance gave me, but quickly moved when I changed insurance.

I was in the store to try and buy a pair of glasses. All the staff were busy with other customer. I asked several times if they can just unlock the shelf , so I can try the glasses. They rudely said no somebody should be with you like if I will steel something if someone not watching me !!!
We waited for 15 min, nobody cared about us or even apologize or willing to help.
Aweful customer service, I could have given 0 star if it was an option!

Great doctors, great service and they have a nice little area for little ones to play while they wait. My son seems to have issues regularly with breaking and scratching his glasses - each time, this office has been great about letting me know about the applicable warranties and insurance coverages that minimize my out of pocket expenses. This team is top notch.

The Doctor was fantastic. The office is a mess. I ordered glasses 2 weeks ago with a promise of 10 days to 2 weeks delivery. Good thing I called. The frames were back ordered without an eta. The office didn't call to tell me. I had to call them. They offered a work around which would take another 10 days. Making the total wait over 3 1/2 weeks. They argued about giving me a refund and then tried to tell me that they had to wait for the manager to approve and cut a check. I pressed them to refund to the credit card I paid with. Reluctantly they finally gave up on their games and agreed. My

My husband and I both have seen Dr. Trainor for several years and have been really happy with the service. He paid attention to detail, is thorough, has never made me wait for an extended period in the lobby and they have some kids toys about for my little one to occupy themselves with during an appointment. They have a large selection of glasses on site as well, which is convenient. Dr. Trainor provided great follow-up care for me after I had PRK surgery, as well as routine eye care. Highly recommend.

Dr. Trainor is seriously the best!!! Amy, the front desk person is very sweet and always greets you with a smile! I have been coming here for about 10 years and every time has been a smooth process. They take appointments on Saturday's which is convenient. It's a very cute, clean little office. Right in the middle of downtown Willow Glen so you can grab a bite or walk around before or after your appointment.
The only caveat I have is that their glasses are super expensive and overpriced, I understand it's private practice but the prices are pretty steep even after insurance covers

I found Visual Eyes Optometry on Yelp after my previous optometrist told me they no longer carried Chanel Eyewear. Visual Eyes had a very large selection of Chanel, and also other high end designer brands.
I was helped by Nori, who was very friendly and helpful. She took the time to review all pricing and options so that I could maximize my insurance benefits and get the best product to meet my needs.
I have happily found a new optometrist!

I like this place. This has been my only eye doc I have ever had and I see no reason to change. They are nice and they check my eyes. Not sure what else people want. I gave them the 5th star because they have appointments on the weekends! Not having to lose money taking time off to get my eyes check is fantastic.

Great facility with a large selection of regular glasses and sunglasses. The location is really nice on Lincoln. There's some street parking and small lot behind the office. Lots of local shops and restaurants nearby.
The vibe is this office is pretty hip and modern and the staff is really friendly. They explained the exam process and my exam was done by Dr. Sung. I found her to be friendly, knowledgable and able to answer my questions clearly. It was a thorough exam.
I plan on returning to pick up a pair of frames soon and would recommend VisualEyes and their staff to my friends. Keep

VisualEyes is located right on the main drag in Willow Glen, very convenient. I didn't have to wait at all to get checked in, and have the checkups done. Overall the checkups were conducted in a professional and crisp manner.
I do have a couple issues: first, the front desk didn't spell out their fees before the tests, although they make you sign a form that says they will. I'm charged for a "contact lens fitting"! I've been wearing contacts since 1996, haven't seen that before.

They have a great selection of glasses and while selecting glasses the ladies that work there are very helpful.
The reason for my lower rating is that when my glasses were ready, they called my number and apparently left a voicemail because I didn't answer and didn't recognize the number. I never got the message and had been waiting for my classes for about a month with out a call. They didn't call me back at all or call my back up number (my mom's phone number). My glasses have been sitting in their office for two weeks and they didn't decide to ever notify me again
