Dr. Austin Mitchell grew up in Memphis, Alaska, Spain, and North Carolina before his family settled in Nashville where he graduated from Hume-Fogg Academic High School. He received a bachelor's degree in Pre-Med / English / Philosophy from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville; received his medical degree at the University of Tennessee, Memphis; and completed his residency training at St. Vincent's Hospital in New York City.
When you request an appointment online, it is a request. A member of our staff must examine it for appropriateness and accuracy before approving the appointment. Please wait to attend your appointment until you have received a response from us first. You may be asked to try again if the appointment you requested was taken by another patient or otherwise.
These are our new Office Hours. We continue to offer TeleMedicine visits for appropriate complaints. If you need a different time or day for a TeleMed appointment please reach out to the office to inquire or request and we will do our best to accommodate. We are closed for lunch between 12:00pm and 1:00pm.

I wouldn’t recommend this place for treatment. I have never had any good results here. A large part of that is because I can’t ever get my prescription. Each time I am told that it is at a different pharmacy. I take time out of my day to go, but it is never there. I don’t understand why I have to go on a scavenger hunt for a prescription. If I am paying for a service, I should be able to get what I need. Especially, when it specifically comes from the service provider. I honestly feel as though the appointments and seeing the doctor are a waste of time. Today, I called again for the 7th time

I wanted a doctor who wasn't in the cosmetic side of the business after having seen one for 20+ years. I found Dr. Mitchell and have never looked back. He's compassionate, understanding, has respect for your views, and is so knowledgeable. I know I can fully trust him with my skin issues. His office is an hour drive from my house but every minute on the road is worth the time. When you find the right fit, the right doctor that you 100 percent trust, there's no second guessing the decision.

Dr. Mitchell has some great bedside manners and he offered my son and l some good advised. I called the office one evening and left a voicemail,. My call was returned the next day, and also got the appointment reminders. My son is 13 years old and after we listened to the difference in the plan of care, he choose which one the wanted done. He and his staff are very pleasant and well mannered. Our wait time including a procedure was 45 minutes. Our pediatrician advised us to see a dermatologist and l choose this office due to location. I also asked my chiropractor Dr Foster if she knew anyone. She

I visited the Brentwood Skin Clinic because of the medical and not cosmetic focus of the practice and the great reviews. Dr. Mitchell was both thorough and knowledgeable. Plus, it was easy to talk to him about my somewhat rare skin conditions. Also, he gave me a referral to consult with a medical discipline I wasn't aware existed.

I was taken in a few minutes after I arrived. The young man at the front desk was very friendly and nice. After I was taken to the surgery room, the doctor discussed with me my concern. He took a look at the place on my leg and felt like it was nothing to be concerned about. But we discussed it and decided to do a biopsy just in case. That was done painlessly and efficiently. I left and was called within 2-3 days regarding the results of the biopsy. My person experience was perfect in every way. I would highly recommend Dr. Mitchell and his practice to anyone looking for a dermatologist.
