I know I can always expect a great haircut and coloring at Lada. I never worry about how it will turn out because everyone there is very talented. I had Hayden cut my hair for the first time recently. I went from very long to pixie and I love my new look!

My teen son goes here and really likes his stylist and the service he gets. They always give him good hair advice even if he doesn't come in with the greatest ideas. He comes out looking good. He gets a lot of compliments -- and not just from his parents! The owner is a long time Lawrence resident (nope, not a chain). My son sends all his friends (of all genders) here and they all feel welcome and at ease. Just a good vibe all around.

In search of: the hair salon visit when you felt glamorous as you walked out hair flowing, nicely styled and blow dried with compliments from strangers. Well... this is the first time in decades of getting my hair colored that I walked out of a salon with my hair wet. Btw, my hair is keratin treated and not curly or wild.
Did they stop teaching stylists how to use a blow dryer in school? Here is the Formula for success: heat, tension, and small chunks of hair at a time.
A year ago, the stylist at this salon said.. I will do the best I can... when I asked for a straight blow dry . ...not

My wife visited Lada and stated her experience was phenomenal. She loved her cut and color (which had a fancy name). This is the first place she’s been in a while she actually wants to go back to. (She was already the absolute most beautiful/best woman in the world so as long as she liked it I’ll give it 5 stars.)

Initially had a scheduling mix-up, but they were great about calling me and resolving the issue, ensuring that they could fit my schedule. I'm hesitant to make my next point because I selfishly don't want him to be any busier, but Brandon is AMAZING! So, so good with curly hair! Even my hair-incompetent self can style this cut. The color looks completely natural as well. I'm telling you people--he's an artist. Finally, Hayden was great with my daughter, and the cut she gave her has made mornings much less frustrating. Thanks, guys!

OMG! David was absolutely amazing! I have been wanting a perm for like 15 years and I've never had the patience to grow my hair out and was super scared. He was so efficient and rolled my hair so perfectly and it came out absolutely gorgeous. I'm in love . If you're looking for a perm I implore you to go to him.

Lada Salon and Spa is the most UNPROFESSIONAL salon. I made an appointment 2 weeks in advance, and they sent a confirmation text on the day of my appointment. I showed up at the salon and was told to have a seat, and Cait would be with me in a few minutes. Five minutes later, she says there was an error in scheduling, and Cait is not at the salon. So, I made an appointment two weeks out, Lada Salon and Spa sent me a text the day of confirming the appointment, and I show up they have me wait 5 minutes to tell me the stylist is not actually there. Giving this salon 1 star is too many. COMPLETE

COVID I got a haircut for the first time in 4 months today at Lada Salon. Both I and the stylist Jim kept our masks on the whole time - through the shampoo, cut and blow dry. They had sanitizer at the front desk which I was able to use before and after giving them my credit card for payment. I was glad that Jim, the stylist was caring enough to work around the mask and kept his on during the duration of my time there.

historically i've been told that my hair is pretty "easy," (it's long, black, healthy, and straight) so i simply booked an appointment online for a cut + color.
i asked for balayage and subtle layers, a little longer in the back than the front. specifically i wanted them to blend well together from front to back, and wanted to keep my hair long.
random bright pieces + this cut = **yikes**.
my artist was very kind and i know she meant well.

I had never been to this salon, but a last minute emergency left me scrambling to find a stylist 2 days before my vacation. They got me right in with Christina and I am SO happy with my color and cut. She did a fantastic job and was so much fun to chat with. Everyone was very nice and I felt right at home. I'll be back!!

I love Lada! I've been here for massages, as well as hair cut/color and have always had a great experience. Caitlin just did my cut/color for the first time and I think it's the best cut and color I have ever gotten! She was very informative with helping me decide what would look best, and I always really appreciate that!

The distance from my wedding venue (from Downtown Lawrence all the way to the West) did not stop me because they had great service. Wende took all of my questions when I booked my appointment. Her hair and make-up stylist, Ashley, executed my look very nicely; I made clear what I wanted (a look that reminded me of my tropical roots that fit well with the summer), and then she added her recommendations to stunning, beautiful effect. The effect was gorgeous on both the make-up trial and the day of. My only gripe was that when she gets carried away, we take so long on the chair, but I also enjoy her

I've been getting my hair cut at Lada Salon for 4 years now, and wouldn't consider going anywhere else. My stylist is very respectful of my wishes and doesn't try to get creative with styling my hair. She respects that I don't typically put product in my hair, and thus doesn't load up my hair with goop after washing it. This salon is also extremely flexible on scheduling appointments. I can call the same week or week before I would like to schedule a hair cut and they are able to fit me in. Yes, the location means it takes longer for me to get there, but I wouldn't

Moved to town and was looking for a new stylist. When I called to make an appointment, I was impressed with the receptionist because she immediately asked me about my hair and then gave me recommendations on two stylists in different price ranges. I went with master-stylist David. The salon is clean and well appointed.
I have long curly hair that I wear several different ways including straight so I needed a cut that looked good curly and straight. He did a fantastic job and I love the end result...and he was a nice guy. I will continue to go back to him. :)

Lada Salon is located in a rather obscure location in Western Lawrence, at 6th and Wakarusa, across from the new Wal-Mart. But this Aveda Salon has a top-notch staff, and if Aveda's your thing, you need to check it out. They have a nice supply of all Aveda's products on hand, and offer not only hair appointments, but full spa services, as well. The nail room is small, but don't let that discourage you. I've never been to a salon that was so careful about cleanliness and hygiene. There's another Aveda Salon in Lawrence, but I've found this one to be most friendly
