Dr. Cunningham moved his practice to East Orange in 1973 to partner with a group of Black physicians who built the "Blue Building" at 185 Central Avenue.

Cataracts tend to develop in people over the age of 55 and are widely known to be a symptom of aging. However, cataracts can develop as a result of an eye injury or disease, a family history of cataracts, smoking, or due to the use of certain medications. Our doctors may recommend lens replacement surgery for people who are significantly affected by cataracts.
Glaucoma is a complicated disease in which damage to the optic nerve leads to progressive, irreversible vision loss. It is the second leading cause of blindness but continues to be a very misunderstood disease. Many people don't realize the severity of the condition or who can be affected by it.

Glaucoma can cause blindness if it is left untreated, and unfortunately, approximately 10% of people with glaucoma who receive proper treatment still experience some loss of vision. There is no cure (yet) for glaucoma, and lost vision cannot be regained. However, with medication and/or surgery, it is possible to halt further loss of vision caused by the condition.

Very bad service from the so-called receptionist to the actual terrible so-called doctor! Brought my uncle there for service and it was TERRIBLE! They need to shut down the business. They took tests and had no record of the tests taken for him. Definitely not sanitize especially with COVID! No masks, no gloves, no sanitizing of the place! The horrible so-called Doctor was sooooooo rude and and NASTY! What a joke this place is! They need a negative ZERO!

I came in for a follow up eye exam having made an 11am appointment. Get there, and I'm told to be seated. 15mins later, and I ask how long before I'm seen, and I'm told there are 3 people ahead of me. Listen, im not here to waste my time. What is the point of an appointment if you're going to waste patients time??? Also, the ophthalmologist and his snide remarks will get him in trouble if he doesn't watch his mouth! Medical providers like him are the reason why I choose female doctors. The pompous behavior is unbecoming in the medical field! Elsewhere is where I shall take my business!

DR Cunningham, is the most rude doctor i have ever met he makes a lot of indirect rude comments! Even over hurd him one time tell a technician. “ There is a guy in the next room who is kind of slow” i was so shocked 😮 smh no compassion at all ... . Stand clear of this doctor no one uses gloves when dealing with eyes or putting drops in. They have Hand sanitizer on the walls thats been empty for months , you can tell because it is dirty. Wish i can give no stars ! When his dad owned the practice it was a MUCH better place now its going down hill.
