Stories are often sparked by a vision. Assembly is no different. The vision developed from a desire to take the tradition of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, passed down through the finest training and instruction, and present it in an elevated environment with the highest quality of services and amenities. We envisioned a modern and artistic space that will serve as inspiration to enhance your training and help meet your goals.
This includes ambitious individuals with competitive aspirations, as well as those searching for a space to settle back from the demands of the day.

That goes for current residents of the Metro Detroit Area who are enrolled at other schools. We are here to foster an open training enviornment for all. All of our public classes are available for you to join as long as you meet the experience criteria. A clean Gi / No Gi uniform is required to participate in any and all classes.
Vladimir started Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in late 2012 at Mash Gym. Shortly after starting, that is where him and David began a friendship which would eventually sprout Assembly Detroit from nothing to what we are today. In 2014, Vlad moved his training over to Detroit Jiu-Jitsu and began learning under Professor Danny Agemy.
Josh started training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu / Martial Arts in June of 2004. He originally developed his passion for these arts in high school. As his appreciation for the sport grew, he wanted to learn as much as he could. Jiu-Jitsu seemed like a natural transition to further this goal. Josh is suited incredibly well to teach our students due to his experience as a high school teacher.
Our BJJ class for kids will be taught in the Gi (Traditional Uniform) and will focus on the fundamentals of the art. Kids will learn how to fall properly, defend themselves, and manipulate their training partners in different positions. Classes will consist of warm ups, instruction, positional sparring (also known as rolling) as well as fun games that will cement concepts in their minds in a fun way.
Our Program will push your problem solving skills to the max and beyond. We picked these specific programs through our experience in Martial Arts over the past 23 years. Scroll below and read the descriptions and join us for your free class. See you on the mats! One of our main programs is Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in the Gi (traditional uniform).
