Since 1999, Byrley Law Firm, L.L.C. attorneys have practiced U.S. immigration and nationality law before the administrative courts and agencies of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Department of State and U.S. Department of Justice. There are a number of non-immigrant visa categories for foreign nationals who wish to come to the US to study. The F-1 Visa (Academic Student) is available for eligible applicants who wish to enter the U.S. as a full-time student at an accredited (U.S. government- approved) college or university, in a program that culminates in a degree, diploma, or certificate.
Two principal types of working visas are the H-1B visa, which is for foreign professionals coming temporarily to work in the United States, and the L-1 visa, which is targeted to employees of an overseas company who are being transferred to an affiliated company in the US. Other options include the TN visa for Canadians and Mexicans; H-2B visa for temporary, seasonal workers; the H-1C for registered nurses; and the H-3 for trainees.

The Green Card is issued upon approval of permanent residence status by the USCIS. Permanent residence status confers many benefits, including the ability to work in the US, travel abroad for limited period of time and return without a US visa, and sponsor immediate family members for green cards of their own.
