We are very excited to announce that Freshly Cut has moved to a new location and is now open. After 38 years at the same place and a pandemic year off, we've decided it's time for a change. Our new location is at 378 Colusa Avenue, Kensington, just North of the Circle. It was 1982 when I noticed a new foundation being laid in the vacant lot that was next to the old Monterey Produce Market.
Freshly Cut delivers flowers to addresses in Berkeley, Oakland, Piedmont, Emeryville, Kensington, Albany, El Cerrito and Richmond. Our starting size is a lavish tabletop bouquet in a ceramic vase, priced at $75.00 and featuring the seasonal blooms of your choice, arranged with our signature style. Larger arrangements or those containing specialty flowers may also be ordered at market price.
Freshly Cut brings you flowers with a difference. From seasonal bouquets to lavish, large flower arrangements - our creations have a flair and spirit that sets them apart from all others. Always fresh, always seasonal and always exquisite. Our style is a little more natural and garden like, with all of the freshness and beauty of the season.
I'm always grateful we have a pretty cool summer here in Berkeley. It does not stop us from enjoying all the warm climate Summer Annuals and Perennials. We still have a lot of lingering peonies through June and July, and combining them with clematis, garden roses and hydrangeas is a dream come true.

First, this store is one of the most beautiful flower shops one can walk into. They feature a tastefully curated selection of not just flowers but also seasonal branches and fresh fruit for lovely decorations. And their bouquets are perfectly packaged for presents. So, why am I giving them two stars? First the flowers are outrageously expensive. Yes. the quality is excellent but $7 for a twig? C'mon. The recipient who received the arrangement sent me a picture with the following message: "gasp the birthday weekend is off to a GORGEOUSLY festive start with the delivery of these incredible flowers!!! I cannot recommend Janet's work more highly for weddings. She took what felt like somewhat open-ended direction from me and created arrangements and bouquets that far exceeded my expectations and matched the tone I was aiming for. Lush, soft, fresh, Springy. When I walked into the reception room after all the flowers had been set on the dining tables, I had to catch my breath! So beautiful.

A lovely neighborhood floral shop across the street from Monterey Market. Come in for the amazing scents and arrangements of freshly cut flowers. We came in for an anniversary party that evening with the specifications of red and yellow colors and wildflower style. Qwin called the owner Nancy for backup and they put together the most exquisite arrangements we have ever seen for the party while we had lunch and we picked them up on the way home. While they would have appreciated more notice, they were flexible and have unique flowers and amazing arrangement styles. We will go back!

When I want an exquisite flower arrangement, this is where I go. Everyone that I've worked with there has an eye for design, and is wonderful to work with. I always go there to see what they have, and then you can tell them which flowers you like, what colors you like, or just give them free reign. They are not cheap - but the difference between what you will get here and anywhere I've been is no small thing. You can bring your own vase to save money on buying one of their vases. I don't buy flowers here every week, but I do for a a special gift. And, sometime, that special gift

Coming from out of town I wanted a corsage for my mom's 80th birthday. It was a last minute idea and the ladies were so kind and enthusiastic about request. She knew exactly what I needed and was able to communicate ideas and descriptions that gave me confidence that the arrangement would be appropriate and beautiful. I bought flowers for mothers day. I don't know my flowers well, and they were not helpful. I selected by look and was astonished how expensive they were! But since they were not gracious, i didn't feel comfortable undoing the bouquet. The worst part was the flowers didn't last long at all! They died quickly and my mom was really disappointed. I think because the flowers are near west facing windows and it is very warm in the shop. For price and freshness you are much better off buying flowers from Monterey Market!!!!!!!!

My cousin in New Jersey is so smart, she found Freshly Cut as it's the closest to my mom's place, and cousin was sending flowers for mom's 90th birthday. I should say my cousin is LUCKY and smart, because Freshly Cut delivered one of the most beautiful arrangements I've ever seen.

I just need to leave a killer review for Gwynne right now. I live in LA and needed flowers delivered to someone in Berkeley, but not only flowers, I was playing a prank. It's hard to plan something when you're cities away, but when you find someone with a great sense of humor like Gwynne, it all becomes easier. My plan was to send a 24 year old frat brother a bouquet of sweet 16 flowers with enough pizazz to finally play a prank on the prankster. And it played out wonderfully! I can't say enough positive things about this shop. I came in from out of town to take care of some wedding details including finding a florist. I went to another shop first and their first question was "Do you have an appointment?" I've never been married before and had no idea that this was an appointment type of situation. They were not accommodating and very unprofessional, so I went back to Yelp and found this shop. I called the shop to ask about an appointment and explained my situation. Freshly Cut is a magical place you can walk into and ask on a whim for a child's wrist corsage and walk out with a delightful cluster of white flowers and kumquats that looks like it came from fairy land but costs the same amount as the plastic birthday present you would have otherwise bought. It's also the place you can get stunning centerpieces and from which you can send amazing bouquets at any price range.
They also stock seasonal knick knacks and great taper candles. The best part is the extremely talented team who work well together to make creative, unusual and stunning arrangements

I wish I lived close to this place and could drop in on a whim. I was looking to send flowers to a friend who was down. Almost all of the local florists look like they use the same flowers and web designer....BORING. I'm so glad I happened upon the Freshly Cut Florist before giving up and ordering something generic.
