Matthews Automotive was very kind to my wife in the past when she was traveling traveling through Salem and had a leak in one of her tires. She stopped at their shop and they fixed her tire right away without charging her for their repair. So I decided to return to Matthews to get a set of new snow tires for my 2022 Hyundai Palisade. Adam Matthews was very professional and showed me some options and recommended the brand that I bought. I made an appointment for the installation and did not have to wait when I arrived. They installed my new tires right away! I will definitely go back to Matthews

This was my first time visiting Matthews Automotive. I had made an appointment for an oil change and NYS inspection. I was blown away on how ready they were to assist me and the professionalism was top notch. They even took the time to get to know me which no dealership has ever done. You are not just a customer to these folks. You feel like family. The quality of service was amazing... I have driven by their establishment many times and if I knew what I know now I would have been their customer years ago. Great job Matthews Automotive!!

Showed up 5 minutes after closing on a Friday night. I had a tire failure and was not an existing customer. They treated me like I had been a customer for 20 years. He opened the shop back up and fixed my tire in record time. I was right back on the road. Friendly, courteous, professional and fair. Highly recommend.

On a 4th of July visit to Salem, my car broke down and would not start. I had AAA take it to Mathews on the advice of a relative. It was July 5th at about 3 PM, an Naomi at the shop told me that they shut down at 4, so nobody could look at the vehicle until the following day. I had to return to NJ for work the next day, so I left the vehicle with them. On July 6th I got good news -- car was fixed - they replaced a missing Alternator Belt for $95 -- throw in new wiper blades and tax and bill was $130. I picked up the car on Friday, July 13 (bad omen!) and drove to Saratoga Springs to run an errand

Very impressed with Matthew's. Called to get our vehicle in for service and they were very accommodating to my schedule. They were very honest and the report they send via email is detailed. It is one of the above and beyond extras that they supply that I personally havent seen at other auto service shops. The vehicle was also ready for pick before the time that was given to me for completion. Someone recommended Matthew's to me so I am now recommending Matthew's to anyone who needs auto service without hesitation!

We have had a few bad issues with this place and so have many of our neighbors---we took a car there for a timing belt and the belt broke within a few miles and destroyed the engine and Matthews refused to even LOOK at the thing and refused to repair it.
Also tried to tell me I needed hundreds of dollars of work to pass inspect when I needed a small under $100 repair ---and tried to tell me that my car needed new parts that it turned out the kind of car did NOT EVEN HAVE.
