We pick up your tree directly from your living room floor. We come equipped with reusable tarps and cords, and all we ask is that you remove all decorations from the trees including lights and tinsel. We will also pick up wreaths but the wires must be removed. We discourage people from using plastic tree bags which are not reusable and contribute to the holiday packaging waste.
We will also pick up trees outside your home. For the last eight years we have picked up hundreds of stray trees in alleys as we have made our scheduled pickups. If you cannot schedule with us for any reason, you can help fund our efforts to pick up as many unscheduled trees as possible.

Services
We began fighting the up-hill battle to educate Chicago's residents about the positive environmental impact of recycling in 2002. We attempt to improve upon the residents' awareness of recycling, and ultimately the city's recycling recovery rates (as it lags behind its suburban counterparts and other cities in the country), by providing customized recycling services to various sectors of our local community.
DTRT provides customized recycling services for small businesses and residences on the north side of Chicago. DTRT takes a lead by example approach by working directly with the client. It is our aim to make the clients more aware of their contributions to Chicago's waste stream through education and client participation.
DTRT consults with local grade schools and coaches teachers on how to have a "green" classroom. DTRT visits the class room and works directly with teachers and students. DTRT educates students on recycling issues including source reduction, material reuse, and recycling. They also assess waste trends within the classroom and provide recommendations on how to reduce waste and reuse resources as well as ways to get students involved in the action!
