Tom Tieche and Jack Clampitt came together in 1964 to form a restaurant in Wooster where you could sit down and have a cold beer and incredible steak. Then in 1979, Tom's oldest son; Greg, took over the restaurant as the sole owner. Since, then Greg has been making many changes to keep up with the ever-revolving lifestyles, desires and demands of TJ's loyal and enthusiastic customer base.
Whatever your dining needs, TJ's Trio of restaurants is still your place, just has it has been for 50 years! Whether it's a special place for a family celebration, a nice place to take business associates for lunch or dinner, a romantic place for an evening out, or a fun place to catch a great burger late after the game, TJ's Trio of Restaurants is still the place of choice.

Services
TJ's Restaurant has been a family owned Wooster institution since 1964. While we are proud of our history, we have not been afraid to change to keep up with the times. We now proudly offer something for everyone in your family. We have an extensive (and delicious) vegan menu, grill a mean steak, have the classics mastered and nearly everything in between.

What an absolutely terrible experience our group had this evening. While we understand the service industry is short handed, the way we were treated tonight was beyond unacceptable and was very easily avoided. Our waitress Emily was barely at our table, and when she was, she never addressed the issue at hand - that our food took almost 90 minutes to come out, and it was only 5 adult meals. She could have checked on us, gave us updates on when our food would be ready, etc instead the one time she stopped by she only asked if we wanted refills for our drinks and said our meal would be out “in a

Best restaurant in town by far! The servers are so kind even during this hard time of being so short staffed. They’re all very knowledgeable about their menu and truly care for their customers. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a great experience. Please be kind and considerate to all restaurants and their staff during this time! 10/10 👌🏼

I had dinner there this evening with a party of 10. We loved the patio atmosphere and almost all of the food was perfectly done. Drinks and desserts were great. Our server was awesome and very attentive, especially to my son. I hope to give her some recognition for her hard work and pleasant attitude. I did not catch her name, but she is about to begin working as a teacher. I know she will be great at that job as well. Thanks for everything.

My brother recently got married in Wooster and we chose TJ's to be the place for the rehearsal dinner. Leading up to the day, we coordinated with Rodney. He was always quick to return calls, so helpful, and accommodating. Fast forward to day of and Rodney helped us get into the space early to decorate. Every time we asked something, we got an enthusiastic 'yes!' Sydney was our server for the event and she was kind, personable, and on top of everything everyone needed. The food was delicious, the service was amazing, and the overall experience was top notch. I wholeheartedly recommend

We are on a college visit on Homecoming weekend & wanted a new place to try. TJ's is an established family owned restaurant that really has nice variety & a nice vibe. There are some nice seasonal choices, including a 'warm' balsamic salad that I got, with steak. It was very good and i wish I had been able to finish it, but having had a slice of the delicious pepperoni bread made this impossible. My dinner mates had the burger & walleye. Both looked great and it was reported both were good.
Cocktails looked good, but I had a glass of wine-it would be nice to have a

We came here for dinner and sat at the bar. Our bartender was very friendly. We had a few appetizers. We had the shrimp appetizer. Oh my goodness was that broth good. We also had the cauliflower wings. I liked that because it had a nice fried coating on the outside. For dinner I enjoyed their lemon chicken and thought it was perfectly spice. Great night. Not too expensive and good food.

Food was ok, nothing outstanding. Service was good. My issue was the flies. They were absolutely everywhere! I know it's summer and I know I can expect to see a fly or two, but there were probably at least a dozen by us. One was even smashed on the booth window above my friend's head. We both had to have our hands CONSTANTLY sweeping the air and they still found time to land on things. I talked to the host/manager and I said they were awful. She laughed and had a tone like we were gossiping, "I know! They're just terrible, aren't they?!" I told her it wasn

What a fantastic meal. The pork chop was to die for! Literally the best of my life. I would go back for those alone. The sides were divine and well seasoned. All the meals were delicious. Service was professional and polite. TJ's was a fantastic place to meet and celebrate a family anniversary. Absolutely thrilled for first time out of town visitors.

From out of town... started with the amazing french onion soup. It was incredible. Plus they also have this balsamic/olive oil pesto that was great. For entree, I had the marinated flat iron steak. I'm glad I didn't sub out the garlic mashed potatoes those and the veggies were awesome. The steak had a great flavor. Service was perfect. Solid place. Talked to my friend who grew up here, she said this place is an oldy but goody! I'd come back for sure.

Lobster quesadilla was fabulous but its seasonal! The outdoor dining atmosphere is meh, go for inside dining. Lots of dinner options. Reason for 3 star is the service. Our waiter, (not her fault she had a ton of tables), forgot silverware and water. We were well into appetizers before we got silver with napkins or a water

Five very enthusiastic stars. I am such a huge fan of TJs/Melvins/CWs for several reasons, in no particular order. I LOVE the fact that its locally owned in a place that is becoming more and more like Fairlawn. Greg and the rest of the Tieches are such wonderful people and they really have done an incredible job with this place. Each restaurant does a fabulous job with their particular type of food, and the quality is pretty awesome! TJs fine dining has amazing steaks and fish, Melvins food is truly innovative and orginal, with really fresh ingredients, and I can say with complete confidence that

My mother and stopped in here for dinner after a long day traveling from VA to OH. The hotel staff recommended this restaurant as one of several good ones. We went in about 7:00 pm on a Friday evening. When you walk in - you choose between one of three restaurants.
They had a Tiki Bar/Beach theme going on in the restaurant for the evening. They even had gone so far to set up a plastic kiddie pool in one part of the dining room, and then were asking diners if they would like "pool-side seats?"
We were asked if we would wear lei's (they were fake plastic flowers - but they were having
