Misericordia Nursing & Rehabilitation Center
Founded in 1943, Misericordia Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is committed to providing compassionate care to older adults who require skilled nursing care. Misericordia is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation owned and operated by the Daughters of Our Lady of Mercy, a Catholic religious congregation.

To serve our residents with a heart of mercy by providing kind, patient and compassionate care that meets individual needs and preferences. Located at 998 S. Russell Street, York, PA 17402, Misericordia is a 50 bed Medicare/Medicaid certified skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
Services
The need for our services continues to rise as the population ages, life expectancy increases, and federal and state government assistance declines. The long-term care industry is one of the most heavily regulated and costly services in the U.S. healthcare spectrum. Misericordia's financial viability relies on a combination of Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement and private pay funding.
Including a charitable gift in your will is a simple way to make a lasting gift to Misericordia and your community. You can leave a gift to Misericordia by adding to an existing will or drafting a new one. Make a gift of a stated dollar amount, specific property, a percentage of your estate, or the remainder after distributions to other beneficiaries.
This is a pivotal time for Misericordia. Thanks to the wonderful support of community members, friends and benefactors, Misericordia will be able to enhance its physical space, improve security and create an environment that allows our residents to feel more at home in our building. We have raised over 1.3M of a 2M campaign.
Help further the mission of The Daughters of Our Lady of Mercy with the IRA Charitable Rollover. If you are age 70 1/2 or older you can make a qualified charitable distribution directly from your traditional Individual Retirement Account to Misericordia and NOT pay tax. In addition, the distribution is excluded from your gross income, up to a maximum of $100,000 per year.
This Notice of Privacy Practices describes how we use and disclose your protected health information (PHI) to carry out treatment, payment or health care operations (TPO) and for other purposes that are permitted or required by law. It also describes your rights to access and control your protected health information.

My 92 y/o Mother stayed at Misericordia following a fall. It's a very nice place. Beautiful rooms and great amenities: a public living room area with a fireplace; exercise room; cafeteria as well as a smaller cafe. I swear the paper towel dispenser was made of cherry wood or the like. Mom's therapists were there daily and were understanding if Mom couldn't work as hard from one day to the next. The nurses were attentive, although busy as they were short-staffed. The administration was excellent keeping us informed about Mom's condition, prognosis, plan of treatment, progress and any health issues

My wife spent a month at Misericordia following a stroke. The quality of care and the great progress she made was directly the result of the compassionate, hard working people there. It’s not the most “beautiful” facility in the area but the results they produce make it the best care facility around.

Mother in law was there for a week and half, they didn't tend to her at all, left her waiting in bed for 2 hours waiting to be escorted to the restroom. Once she was released, they didn't release her medications that were to come home with her and the ones that were sent to pharmacy was sent to wrong pharmacy, spent an hour on phone figuring out where her medication was. It was however very clean.

Suggest the GreyHorse review comments be ignored. Person who submitted the comments has not visited her dementia diagnosed mother in the month she has been under care by Misericordia. Based on using 3 other nursing homes in last 8 months, Misericordia has the most responsive and caring staff, best physical facilities, and has mother improve. 5 star all the way.

My mother has been living at Misericordia for almost 2 months. I have visited mother at least 20 times in the past 5  weeks plus almost daily calls to mother or staff on days I am not visiting.
The home is exceptionally clean, friendly atmosphere and I have found all the staff professional, courteous and willingly work with mother and  family to have the highest quality of care and a  friendly home environment.
I have volunteered or visited in many assisted living and nursing homes in numerous states and the overall care and staff at  Misercordia is superior.  If I could give them a 10 star

My mother is a resident there and they are not taking care of her. Will sit with soiled clothes for extended periods of time before being changed. The staff is rude on phone calls and not forthcoming with her medications. They have typical York County attitude and lack class in caring for residents.
