The Gardens at West Shore is a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility located in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, adjacent to Geisinger Holy Spirit Hospital. Our post-acute care unit offers short-term rehabilitation with a range of therapies. Our long-term unit includes a secure memory care unit. I would like to express my greatest "thank you" to The Gardens at West Shore staff for treating my father as their own "Grandpa".
As soon as he arrived they gave him a bath and clean clothing. I was so scared to leave him because I adore my father! The next morning I rushed over and Ms. Shellon gave me the greatest news, he was walking again! I cry and thank everyone from the kitchen staff, to the nurses, and physical therapists.

We've all seen it, you know, the old commercial where a senior falls in her home and cries out that she's fallen and can't get up. So many recognize the commercial that today that line is practically a punch line. However, the reality is, falling is no laughing matter - especially for seniors. With a little bit of planning, there are preventative steps that seniors, caregivers and their families can take to greatly limit the chances of falling.
Well, Summer is finally here! For many families, that means preparing for fun-filled vacations and relaxing getaways. But if you are one of the thousands of caregivers tasked with caring for an aging loved one, a vacation or weekend getaway, may seem impossible or out-of-reach.
Unfortunately, it's all too common for caregivers to feel overwhelmed by the emotional and physical strain of the responsibility of taking the best care of their loved ones. While you as a caregiver may be reluctant to admit you could use a break, it's important to remember that you don't have to be in this alone - respite care can help.

If you or a loved one has been experiencing a medical condition that requires a more concentrated level of care, it's likely that your doctor may have recommended short-term rehabilitation. At this point, you may be asking yourself, "What's the point?" Quality of Recovery: Some may say, "Hey, I'm healthy and active, I even have a long-time exercise regimen, what do I need rehab for?"

This place is a house of horrors that allows patients to be abused at levels unknown to mankind. Friends and family are not even allowed to go see their suffering loved ones. I have some photos of what’s going on at this facility that I will be posting all over the Internet for one of the current patients. Do not ever send any of your loved ones to this place. I belong to a group of people who are trying to get this place reported. I will begin my journey to get this place shut down tomorrow. Nobody should have to endure this type of suffering and pain. Shame on you. How do you sleep at night

Пš¨ðŸš”🚨Please help me because this home won’t! This is what NURSING HOME ABUSE looks like! My buddy Mike is down to 65 pounds from the abuse and neglect he receives every single day in this home, The gardens of west shore. His brother and I beg almost every day for him just to be fed. Loved ones sit in dirty diapers for hours before anyone comes in even after button is pushed. Most of the staff could care less. There are only a few good people in there. I wouldn’t wish my worst enemy to be put in this facility. It is unfair for animals let alone humans to get treated the way they do in

My mother was in rehab and quarentined for 14 days. She was in pain for the 12 days she was there. I spoke many times to the Social Worker who would relay the information to the nurse and doctor. All they needed to do was to follow the schedule she had from the hospital when she was released. I called and spoke to the Director in April who was going to get back to me on my concerns and to this day I haven't received a call from her. I wasn't able to see my mom, her room, or her therapy during her stay. If she would have to go back, it would not be there. This place went down hill from being there

I have worked here for several months and I have seen many sweet and caring relationships between residents and staff. The therapy department does a wonderful job addressing the needs of both long term and short term residents. I have seen several residents make wonderful improvements from rehabilitation services.

My moms just passed away Wednesday at gardens at West shore. I kept calling for months to talk to my mom. And each time they would transfer me to the nurses station then tell me that they couldn't let my mom out her room and use there phone. Also it seems that every time my mom went there for rehabilitation to go home. And she would get bad and go back to hersey and get better. This went on since she first went there in January. I believe they are one of the reasons my mom died.

I am only writing this out of concern for the patients currently in the facility and also to hopefully prevent/warn others of being admitted there. If zero stars were allowed, I would have chosen such. If there is any possible way for you to be admitted to another place, I highly urge you to go elsewhere. The management does not follow through on what they say they are going to do. The floors are highly understaffed, and the aids they do have (save for a few good ones who actually care about their patients and want to do their job correctly) are under-trained and downright lazy. It’s a shame

Pros: I have more peace now that Miriam, the Nurse Practitioner started here... a true blessing for the residents & their families. Most of the nursing staff are top- notch. My Mom is happy to be here long-term.
Cons: Just wish the decor was more modern & the air inside was fresher. A sitting chair for visitors should be in each room. Some staff give lousy showers. Staff stealing clorhing from residents... good coats, pants, tops... Thank goodness for reimbursement.
