Please call us at (916) 488-4161 for more details. At the Sacramento Cat Hospital, we provide veterinary care for all stages of your kitty's life. Our veterinarians and team members treat all of our patients with love, dignity, and compassion, as if they were our own. Our general practice focuses on your cat's overall health, emphasizing regular wellness exams and preventive medicine.
Services
The Sacramento Cat Hospital, established in 1974, was one of the first feline-only veterinary hospitals in the nation. We've been providing personalized, progressive, and innovative veterinary care for 40 years, and we're dedicated to offering modern technology with old-fashioned care. Our caring team members are trained to utilize the newest behavioral information in order to emphasize feline-friendly handling techniques.
Our veterinary services encompass routine care such as regular physical examinations, vaccinations, spay and neuter, dental disease care and prevention, and parasite control. In additional to wellness care, we also provide emergency care, critical care, and surgical care.

Our general practice focuses on your cat's overall health, and emphasizes regular wellness exams and preventive medicine, plus routine care such as spay or neuter, vaccinations, microchipping, and parasite control. We provide comprehensive in-house laboratory services, and also work with outside labs if more extensive labwork is necessary.
Dr. Martin is the heart, soul, and driving force of the Sacramento Cat Hospital. She graduated from the University of California, Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 1984. Originally she was trained as an equine veterinarian. Dr. Martin spent 5 years in small animal medicine before focusing on feline medicine.
A cadre of cats-only veterinarians and their owners think so, too. They say the furry, purring species is so different from dogs that cats need their own doctors focused on their special needs. Cats are rising in popularity as household pets and now outnumber dogs in the United States, said veterinarian Irene Fujishima.
It's important to us to give back to our community. The Sacramento Cat Foundation Benevolent Fund was established to provide care to cats who might not otherwise receive appropriate care and treatment. These kitties come to us from all over the Sacramento area; some require extensive and costly treatment to save their lives.

This place is really great and Dr Les is amazing. He is great about communicating with the humans about their fur babies. However--NEVER take a pet there to be put to sleep--never. The method they use is barbaric. I am really old and have been with several pets during this procedure and I have never been through anything so traumatic to my and to me. It is much kinder to put a stint in the foreleg and administer the injections that way. Most of the time this takes all of 5 minutes with no sign of pain or distress from the pet. I am still having flashbacks about the pain and torture my cat experienced

The day before Thanksgiving, my regular vet was closed, and my nearly 17-year-old beloved kitty suddenly was exhibiting many signs of being ill. I called the Sacramento Cat Hospital, and I was able to bring him in. We were greeted warmly, and the technician treated him with the utmost of care.

Dr. Irene was caring, conscientious, and consulted with me on which diagnostic tests she would perform. I quickly learned that it was time for him to cross the Rainbow Bridge, so Dr. Irene and the team explained what would happen next. The team gave me time to say my goodbyes, and the procedure was carried

I adopted a 7 year old from SPCA. She had previously experienced swollen eyes one of them sealed. Cancer in ear which had to mostly be amputated, infection in mouth causing gingivitis and most of her teeth extracted.
Took her to Sacramento Cat Hospital. She was anxious at first. They calmed her down. After doctor finished long exam decided on a daily powder to mix in food for prevention of gingivitis returning and ointment in ears once a day.
2 weeks later return visit revealed amazing improvement. Eyes were clear, ears clean and pink, gums pink instead of red. Doctor very pleased. I keep up daily

I remain horrified at the terrible way Sacramento Cat Hospital, Dr. Irene and Dr. Martin have behaved after I took my cat here. They wanted to charge $1,200.00 to extract an infected tooth from my cat. I just don't have that kind of money, so I finally found a non-profit agency willing to do it. My cat has a horrible sore in her mouth, has had to wait months for surgery and is in terrible pain, so the non-profit Vet told me to increase her pain medication. The Vets at Sacramento Cat Hospital refused to work with my non-profit Vet and accused me of misusing my cats pain medication, although

We brought our cats here. The first cat cost us over $800. The second cat was over $600. The third cat was over $400. We had to bring 3 of the cats back for further treatment. We ended up spending over $3000!
The vet comes in and examines cat. She then leaves to work up a treatment plan. She comes back in and you tell her yay or nay.
Of course we are very worried about our cats so the first visit for each cat we didn't question her treatment plan.
When we had to bring several cats back for further treatment we began to question the treatment plans. Why was it even necessary for another

I really wanted to like this place, as it's close to my house and specialize in only cats (less stressful for my babies). I arrived early and they put me in a room and quickly took my cat's blood pressure. The vet tech staff was great, however, I did not get the warm and fuzzies from the doctor. I had Dr. Vazquez, but was told over the phone my appointment would be with a different doctor. Fast forward 1.5 hours later and they showed me my estimate for over $1000. Mind you, I came in for my cat's allergies and nothing major. I said no to all the major work they wanted to do

I took my cat here recently and it was an excellent vet visit. Everyone was super nice and friendly with both me and my cat. My cat was maybe contagious since we didn't know what his infection was, and I appreciate that they keep those cats isolated and bring them directly to a room so they don't potentially expose other cats. The visit was pretty quick, and when I asked about different tests/ treatment options, they explained everything thoroughly and let me know what the different options were when I asked. They were very nice with answering all of my questions and making sure my cat

I have been bringing my cats here for a very long time. I had moved a long time ago and changed to a different vet clinic. I recently came back to this clinic and I'm glad I did. My cat isn't as stressed out here because there are no dogs, and the staff knows how to deal with cats specifically. They might be a little more expensive than some vet clinics, but it's worth it. They really know what they are doing and they help with foster to adopt. I always see a few cats there that are up for adoption. I recommend them.

I recently brought my elderly cat here when he was sick, and after our decided treatment wasn't working, I ended up having to make the choice to put him down. First, they really worked with me on the treatment plan. Everything was fully explained and when I declined some tests/treatment, they didn't make me feel judged; they gave me other options and worked with me to come up with a plan. When it came time to put him down, the entire staff was AMAZING. They were so sweet and compassionate. You could tell they truly cared for the animals and were almost as heart broken as me to make that

We brought our cat here and had to wait in the waiting room for 3 hours ....I understand that emergencies happen but the receptionist never communicated anything to us and was rude ...we spent $600 and the doctor all of 5 minutes with us....told us our cat had a heart murmur and thankfully we got a second opinion who spent ample time with us and ruled out any heart murmur....they wanted us to put our cat on anti nausea, appetite enhancers, and antibiotics without even getting the culture back ...we will never take out cat here again and have found THE BEST VET EVER...

They really care about your feelings and the well being of your cat. Dr. Vasquez and staff really saved his life. Thank you all for your hard work, and keep it up. I took my kitty Annabelle to get her annual check up on 3/6/15 and was treated very good. The vet's assistant treated Annabel very nice and complemented my kitty. Annabelle got a complete physical with blood pressure, temperature and a thorough going-over. During the visit I had a few questions about diets and litter quality and the veterinarian had lots of information to give me.I left with free dental chews to find out which ones my kitty would like the best for her teeth. Samples of three different kinds of kitty litter to see what my kitty would like. So all-in-all, the friendly service

I have 2 cats (loves of my life) and one of them has a longstanding health condition, the other HATES going to the vet (bites, scratches, hisses, claws, poops himself, screams, etc). They are great with both of them, very specialized for kittys.
They are really attentive to the health condition, Dr. Irene is amazing and I totally trust her. They are so sweet with how my crazy cat acts and put our minds at ease and don't shame us into feeling like bad cat owners (other vets have). I've also used them for boarding and they were so sweet, even sending us photos of our little guy and sending

Upon moving to Sacramento, I needed to find a new vet. One problem I had with my old vet was the dual cat / dog waiting rooms. Also - when it was busy, we would use a dogs exam room. Another problem was the wait times we had. . . which my cat hated (as well as myself!!)

When I saw that this vet specializes in cats only, I was intrigued, and thought I would try it out. I have nothing but good things to say about their service, their knowledge, their products, and their staff. I have been going there for over 3 years now (and unfortunately, I have been there for multiple medical issues
