Midtown Animal Clinic
Midtown Animal Clinic in Davis, California is committed to providing state-of-the-art veterinary care in a friendly, compassionate atmosphere, where the well-being of your pet is paramount. We are a full-service clinic and utilize in-house digital radiography, ultrasonography, ultrasonic dental scaling and polishing, video otoscope, and blood chemistry analysis.

Dr. Aine Coil, Dr. Kim Nguyen, Dr. Catherine Josling, Dr. Lisa Hu, and Dr. Kelly Regan see patients on an appointment basis beginning at 9:00am daily. Routine elective surgeries are scheduled Monday through Friday, with check-in time between 8:00am and 9:00am. We also offer vaccination-only appointments that are scheduled with one of our technicians.
Services
Owner: Dr. Kelly Regan graduated from the U.C. Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 2013. She was previously employed as a veterinary technician at Midtown for many years and purchased the practice from Dr. Cliff Gravem in mid-2017. She looks forward to continuing the Midtown tradition of excellent medicine and compassion for all patients.
All vaccines have potential side effects. A veterinarian should assess your pet's risks before vaccinating, and then on a yearly basis. Your puppy or kitten should get his or her first vaccination at 6-8 weeks of age. During this first visit your new pet will also have a first treatment for roundworms.
For the health and safety of our clients and their pets, and to comply with the Food and Drug Administration regulations, we have specific rules that must be followed by our veterinarians, our staff, and our clients in regards to the sales of prescription medications. Of special concern is the refill of medications used in the treatment of on-going or recurring conditions.
Sure, puppies are adorable! But there are too many puppies for available good homes, and not spaying your female dog may put her health at risk. Eliminates unwanted "heat cycles" (estrus) and the associated attraction of intact male dogs. OK, it takes two to tango.

Just as your female dog will benefit from spaying, your male dog will also benefit from neutering ("neuter" is technically applicable to either sex, but most commonly refers to the surgical removal of the testicles).Besides further preventing unwanted puppies, neutered dogs make better family pets.
Many common plants, medicines, chemicals, and foods are toxic to pets. The symptoms can vary from none to severe vomiting, seizures, difficulty breathing, and unconsciousness. Always save any wrappers, ingredient lists, or samples of the suspected poison so our doctors will know how to properly treat your pet.

We use these vets for both our dogs.

Our dogs love them and always run off with the vet excited for their adventure

Pricing is very fair. They're very quick to tell you about preventative methods you can consider but respect your decisions on them. Example being we were excited to hear about the lepto shots -our dogs love the creek! But we didn't feel we needed another shot that was suggested based off our current lifestyle! The vet was understanding and respected that!

The only unfortunate thing is there is such a long wait for appointments! Our pup had picked up giardia when

Paid more to get less of my cat!

My 10 pounds cat had to go through anesthetic procedure twice in one day! I do recommend going there for vaccination but I do not recommend going in for a serious procedure if you love your furry friend!

Everything started to go side ways at the first time we checked in for my cat's tail wound. They covered the wound and told me he needed an amputation. Gave me cream antibiotics and I told them if i take the bandage off to put the antibiotics on the wound he will lick and make it bleed again. They just told me I can leave the wound open and I can give them

The veterinarians here seriously know what they are doing! The clinic itself is super clean, well maintained, and has its own parking lot. My 1-year-old Havanese has gone here for a variety of different reasons, but each time she was treated extremely well and I was super impressed with the knowledge and skill of all of the staff. I am a pre-vet student and this is the type of place I dream of working at some day! The one negative is that right now because of COVID, it is super difficult to get an appointment, but calling first thing in the morning helps.

I absolutely love this vet clinic!! I have been going to midtown forever. Even as a child my parents took our family pets there as well. Now as a 30 year old I still take my babies there. We have 2 older dogs, 1 puppy and younger cat. We make the drive all the way from Antelope because they are the only place we trust with our animals!! They are knowledgeable, friendly, caring and always there to help any of our pets!! They know each of our pets by name and always seem to remember us when we walk in. Even during this horrible pandemic our pets safety and health still proves to be their number 1

Midtown animal clinic gave our puppy the best care last week when she had a foxtail deep under her eye. They got us in right away and took great care of both our puppy and us (I was so worried and upset). A big plus was a totally affordable bill for the service and eye antibiotic. I thought the visit was going to be really expensive, but it was priced so well! Mai helped us and she was so sweet and caring. Love this vet clinic!

Nothing but praise for midtown vet!!! Every one is friendly and they go out of there way to make it safe for roscoe because he can't stand other dogs. Our last visit was very emotional to me and they not only had compassion for my dog but they had it for me as well. Knowing I can trust them with the care of my dog means the world to me!

Best vet clinic ever. Super knowledgable staff, but also exceptional bedside manner. They've helped my animals stay very healthy and through some tough times. I recommend them to any animal lover/pet owner.

My poor sick little cat with atrophied kidney's crashed and almost died recently. I took her to Midtown hoping only that they could make her comfortable. Dr. Nguyen has been wonderful in regards to clear communication and realistic expectations. At this point every day is a gift with my little girl, but since taking her in she has started eating again and she is more alert. The prices at Midtown are a fraction of what UC Davis Vetmed wanted. I feel the staff and Dr. Nguyen have been compassionate and provided good quality medical care to my cat in her hours of dire need.

I can't say enough about how wonderful the team at Midtown is. Reception is always incredibly friendly and helpful, the doctors are thorough, compassionate, and truly listen to your concerns about your pet, the tech team is excellent with your fur babies. Today they did a dental on my tiny angry Chihuahua and they couldn't have handled him and his large personality any better. The doctor called mid-day with an update on exactly what they did and was wonderful. They took fabulous care of him and adapted their handling to his special needs to keep him as stress-free as possible. They are

OUTSTANDING!! I adopted my first fur baby at the end of September & soon after found out my little man had worms. I easily was able to schedule an appointment & get him in to get dewormed. Since I adopted him my first visit was free of charge, so nice! Took him back to get his second dewormer & a sample of tick and flee medication. AGAIN they did not charge me & did a complimentary nail trim. The lady's that work at Midtown are so sweet, I am really happy & so is my pup!!

These guys made special time to get my sick 4 week old kitties in to get them an emergency check up. Got them both on the medicine they needed and back up and ready to play. Also helps the review that the entire staff was fawning all over two cute kittens.

We love Midtown! Our pup has some major medical issues but she loves going to the vet. She is well taken care of and we never feel like we're getting over charged. They have all the veterinarian services you may need and will refer you out for more major needs (certain specialty areas like optometry etc.).

Vaccines are usually about $20-25 and a checkup is $50 ($75 for first time visitors).

Been taking both dogs I have there now. And everyone is not only amazing they get my dogs. My older dog Clyde is so easy but they help him because he is older and has had a few toes removed. And my younger dog aurora is a big scaried cat and they get it. They are super reasonably priced couldn't be better

I just wanted to update my review, now that I have been going to Midtown for a few years. I cannot express how appreciative I am for this clinic or its staff. Every time that I call the office for questions, they are always willing to give me advice; and, the vets there are always patient with me when I ask questions and have concerns.

If you get your dogs' nails trimmed, be sure to ask for Mai! I love her, and she is so nice to my two pups. She is great at handling them and she always answers any questions I have. She's awesome!

ALL of the vets are great, but I really love Dr. Regan

It has been very disheartening as a long-time client of Midtown to see prices significantly increase and the quality of care--especially the attitude of office staff towards pet owners--significantly decrease under the new ownership.

For the past year, I have not felt like a valued client of Midtown for several reasons. Recently, when I called to schedule an appointment for my sick pet, I was told that if I want to be seen that day, I will need to pay an "emergency fee" instead of the normal office visit. To be charged the normal exam rate, I have to wait 2-3 days to see a doctor. When

I am so grateful for this animal clinic. Before moving my car from my hometown I did research on the animal clinics in Davis and was impressed with their reviews. I took in my cat and appreciated the way they handled him. 4 years later we have 2 cats, 1 dog and a kitten. Our oldest cat has had urinary tract issues that required hospitalization and our kitten is having incontinence issues. Every time we take in our pets they always make sure they are treated properly. They have literally saved my oldest cats life and they always answer my thousands of questions respectfully even though I'm

I cannot express how grateful I am to Midtown Animal Clinic and how invaluable their service has been for me.

I went to Midtown when I got my dog, Penny, as a young puppy. Their care has been kind and wonderful, and my dog has no fears about going to the vet as they have always treated her well. When we adopted a cat, we took her to Midtown as well.

We recently moved to the UK (and planned on taking the pets with) and Midtown has gone above and beyond. I moved ahead of the pets, who stayed behind with my parents while we settled. I had emailed the head managers of Midtown ahead of time, asking

When I called to make my first appointment there, they were already giving me an explanation of what everything cost (regular, emergency, and overnight costs). The last vet I went to didn't tell me a single number until it was time to charge me, so this is a great change of pace and really allows me to figure out my options before I take them. The vet was also really friendly and seemed knowledgeable, and she handled my kitten with ease.

As a funny aside: I'm a bit absent minded. All I could think about after the appointment was getting home and cooking myself some food, so when the
