At Modern Optometry, our goal is promote good eye health and enable you to have the clearest vision possible. We accept several types of vision insurance, cash, checks, and most credit cards. We inform our Glendale patients about exam and treatment costs at the beginning of your appointment. If you require a breakdown of costs, please let us know.
Dr. Babak (Bob) Kamkar has been a California licensed optometrist since 1986. Dr. Kamkar pursued undergraduate work in bioengineering at University of California, San Diego, and received his degree of Doctor of Optometry from Southern California College of Optometry in Fullerton.
He is also one of few optometrists in California with additional credentials as a Qualified Medical Evaluator (Q.M.E.) and is experienced in providing Agreed Medical Evaluations (A.M.E.), expert witness testimonies, and Subsequent Injuries Benefits Trust Fund (SIBTF) evaluations.Dr. Kamkar is the inventor of APD Tester, a pupil testing device (Patent No. US9681805), manufactured by the Good-lite Company in Elgin, Illinois.

First time here, saw Dr. Irina Yakubin for a eye health exam and glasses prescription exam. She was very thorough in her exam. Since it was my first time, she had limited knowledge of my vision / eye health history. She analyzed my retinal scan, which was helpful; this was the first time I had this scan and I appreciated her showing the results to me and discussing them in detail. She was diligent in determining my glasses prescription, double and triple checked my results versus my previous glasses and the machine's auto-estimated prescription.

This store was very rude. I ordered my glass and he ordered wrong one. When i asked why is wrong? He said it is what it is if you don’t like it you can leave my store omg! I can’t believe how he can someone be rude! I don’t recommended anybody. Don’t go over there. Service and customer service was weak and horrible.

It is was super easy to get an appointment for the very next day. 'ANI' answered the first phone call, and was courteous and sweet while answering my questions. First impression was good.

I would give 0 star to this place if I could. First time here and its going to be my LAST time. Although, the doctor was really nice and professional, the receptionist was such a rude and impolite lady. As soon as I walked in, there was no greetings and the lady was giving such an attitude as if she was forced to work there and talk to the patients (customers). This was still ok ( I didn't mind this thinking everyone has rough days) until I saw the doctor and it was time for me to choose a frame. I had an amazing experience here! All the doctors and the other employees were extremely kind and professional. Their facilities are amazing and pristine! They have state of the art eye exam equipment that I've never seen. They took a picture of my eye and showed it to me. I've never experienced that.
Their prices were much better than other optometrists that I've visited. They took my VSP insurance and I even got a free frame because of my insurance!
Highly recommended.

My first time I came to this place was very nice while I met with professional staff, also the Dr. who took care of me was able to speak Farsi was absolutely amazing but unfortunately I don't know for some reasons when I called them to double check my appointment this time, some guy with very thick accent (Russian-Armenian) which was very hard to understand picked up the phone and said you already missed your appointment.

I liked their selection and I liked that they give you your glasses on the same day as your visit, sometimes within an hour. The receptionist, Rouzan, is also nice. There is also another lady there that helps you pick out your glasses.
One of the doctors is nice, the other one (the guy that does the lenses) is really rude. I had been there twice for appointments. I've seen that rude doctor yell at his employees while I'm waiting there to be called in, which is uncomfortable to watch.

My first time checking out my vision, the staff and the Dr are so so nice an professional l, Dr puts enough time and effort to do every checks and explains well while he is checking, superb patience skills :) I should be back in two years to check on my eyes but I have eagle vision for now. The receptionists here made for a very awkward experience. Despite my responses in English, they insisted on keeping the conversation in Armenian. I don't understand other dialects very well so I was a bit annoyed by this. Whenever I'd respond, they would give me blank stares and act as if they didn't understand what I was saying (even though it was clear by the end that they speak both languages).
I thought that this was an obvious foreshadowing of the doctor being just as inconsiderate as them. Receptionists can be a reflection of the doctor at times, right? I'm so glad this

Modern optometry has excellent , accurate and fast service with a reasonable prices, specially if you don't have insurance coverage like Me!
I started getting headache, blurry vision and difficulty reading smaller text lately!
I heard about them through a friend and got my eye exams done by a very friendly doctor there and they got my multi vision glasses pretty quick and no more problem with my eyes and getting a lots of complement on my glasses as well.
