Serafin Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

I started my BJJ journey with Jeff Serafin a million years ago when he was teaching at Evanston Boxing Club. He is an amazing coach and competitor himself. His instruction is very detailed and he is spot on in terms of technique. Eventually I moved to California and trained at a high level competition gym (Cobrinha), but would have never been able to make the transition without Jeff's initial instruction. When I had to move back to Chicago I joined Jeff's gym again. He has produced many world champions that compete at Pan Ams, Worlds, and other world class tournaments. The gym is open to weekend

I am a purple belt and I live & train much further north, but I got to take a 'jiu jitsu vacation' and train at Serafin this last weekend. Great instruction and awesome environment. I learned some new stuff and his team was fun to roll with. Highly recommended!

Jeff is a really great instructor and respected by others in the Chicago jiu-jitsu community. Jeff really cares about his students and how they evolve in their skills. I have been with Jeff since 2007 and have made huge progress on the mats and in my personal life through jiu-jitsu thanks to Jeff.

I have been training here for two years, and I wish I had joined much, much earlier. Jeff is extremely skilled at both jiu jitsu and more importantly teaching (perhaps the hardest attribute to find). Classes are structured in a very approachable way. Both gi and nogi styles are taught. Beginners and black belts alike will learn solid technique here. The people training here have left their egos at the door and just love to learn, train and roll. Everyone is treated like family from day one. Highly, highly recommended!

Fantastic coach, very affordable classes, and at many different times. Open 7 days a week. Everyone there are very welcoming people. I would recommend this place to everyone, no matter what size or age you are

Cant begin to say how happy I am I began training BJJ, and very fortunate to learn from someone as knowledgeable as Jeff. Every move is explained and broken down to the finest detail, and he's always ready to help if you have trouble understanding. Great team, clean environment, ask any grappler in Chicago and everyone has nothing but positive things to say about Jeff, highly recommend this place.

World class BJJ instructor. I've trained under Jeff Serafin for the past 4 years. Jeff is great, not just as a BJJ instructor, but also as a person.
