Services
Dr. Poggio's passion for Orthodontics brought her to San Diego in 1994, to receive specialized Orthodontic training at the Lawrence F. Andrews Foundation for Orthodontic Education and Research. After years of professional training at the Foundation and subsequently at the University of Detroit-Mercy, Dr. Poggio's love for San Diego led her to return to the area to open her Orthodontic practice, serving the Eastlake community.
Poggio and the entire staff at Otay Lakes Orthodontics has basically been part of our life for 10 years. My daughter had many phases of work needing to be done at appropriate times of development with a multidisciplinary team and through the years this office has taken such good care of my daughter as if she was their own.
At the first visit to the orthodontist a medical/dental history, and a clinical examination are performed. If treatment is recommended diagnostic records are made to determine the best course of treatment. Complete diagnostic records typically include plaster study models of the teeth, photos of the patient's face and teeth, and X-rays.
Our goal at Otay Lakes Orthodontics is to make orthodontic treatment affordable for everyone. As a matter of convenience to patients, Dr. Poggio also offers an automatic draft from checking accounts or credit cards. We will review all the fees associated with treatment and the financial options available during your complimentary orthodontic consultation.
It's more important than ever to brush and floss regularly when you have braces, so the teeth and gums are healthy during orthodontic treatment. Patients who do not keep their teeth clean may require more frequent visits to the dentist for a professional cleaning. Adults who have a history of gum disease should also see a periodontist during orthodontic treatment.

We are at the end of my son (Donovan) time with braces, this has been the best experience from beginning to end. Today everyone was just as excited as we are to have his braces removed. From the front office to the back office EVERYONE is amazing.
You will not find a better orthodontist in this area, they are the best. In the couple of years we have been coming here we have not had one bad experience.
