Cynthia Villacis, a licensed, board-certified physician assistant, supports Dr. Tjelmeland in various clinical and surgical settings, including new consultations, pre- and post-operative care.
Cynthia also maintains staff privileges at Seton Hospital, Brackenridge Hospital, St. David's Hospital, South Austin Hospital, and Heart Hospital of Austin, which enables her to assess patients at the time of consultation, provide inpatient care, and perform hospital rounds.Cynthia is also trained to perform in-office procedures such as ProFractional Laser Therapy, Botox injections, Fillers, and vein sclerotherapy.

Shylene is the director of Meridian Surgery Center, managing day-to-day operations and extending patient care before, during, and after surgery. By guiding patients through their entire surgical process, Shylene ensures each patient a pleasant experience while at Meridian.
Born and raised in Victoria, Shylene received an Associate's degree in nursing before relocating to Austin in 2000, where she received her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing at The University of Texas.Shylene cared for patients at Brackenridge hospital before transferring to Meridian in the fall of 2006.

Dr. Tjelmeland removed a basal-cell growth from the bridge of my nose. The surgical results are excellent-you literally cannot tell there were stitches. Also, when he learned that I was being charged over $1,900 for the skin medication, Dr. Tjelmeland worked with the pharmacy to find an equivalent drug with a $10 co-pay. I could not be more pleased with the experience.

I have been a patient of Dr. Tjelmeland since 2008. My first surgery was a rhinoplasty. I had interviewed several surgeons and was super impressed with the time Dr. Tjelmeland spent with me during the consultation, his obvious expertise, and his very caring demeanor. I eventual moved to another city and when a breast implant began to deflate (not done by Dr. Tjelmeland) I called Dr. Tjelmeland and though it was a Saturday he was quick to call me back and streamlined the process of replacing my implants in a matter of days. After re-prioritizing my own health and fitness again post-pregnancy, I was eager to learn about the 'mommy makeover' and see if it was the right move for me. Dr. T provided a very thorough and honest consultation, ultimately recommending that my procedures be done separately. I opted to begin with the abdominoplasty (tummy tuck). I was operated on a couple years ago, but felt the urge to leave a review now. To preface, I am not a medical professional but this is my personal experience based on observations.
I am very petite with practically non-existent chest. I made it an intention to seek a doctor who was skilled with breast augmentations on people with similar frames. I was drawn to Dr. Tjelmeland based on his before/after pictures. The results were natural, refined, and not disproportionate to the individual which drew me to Dr. Tjelmeland’s skill as a surgeon. Upon my first consultation I felt that I was disrespected

I’ve been a patient with Dr. Tjelmeland since 2014 when he did my breast augmentation which I LOVED, couldn’t be happier with the results.
I went back a few weeks ago for a lift/ revision due to my lifestyle change (kids, fitness etc) and I’m extremely happy, once again, with the procedure and I’m healing nicely. I’ll update if anything changes

Dr. Tjelmeland is an excellent surgeon who cares about the results of his work. I went to 6 consultation and Dr. Tjelmeland was by far the best. I've had 4 different procedures with him and the results are outstanding.
I've referred over 5 friends to his practice who have also been very impressed with his work. His bedside manner is caring and empathic. His staff is phenomenal. Go for a consult! Take a look at his book of before and after. I have no doubt you will be convinced.

Dr. Tjelmeland is a very knowledgeable and an incredibly smart Doctor, not to mention engineer, for he was a chemical engineer before going into plastic surgery. My breast augmentation went smoothly and it was such a comfort to know the Doctor was only a phone call away, no secretaries or office to go through for those days right after the surgery.
