Our Location The Law & Mediation Office of Lorna Jaynes is located in beautiful and historic downtown Niles. Some people choose divorce. Others may have the choice made for them. Services
Divorce attorneys and mediators are not an essential service. And, at least as of this writing, the family courts, except for emergencies, are closed and there is not even fax filing available. But the reality is that folks still need to divorce, co-parent and support children, divide/allocate property and perhaps income as well.

I can't recommend Lorna highly enough. She is patient, understanding and caring and helped us through a very difficult and painful time by facilitating a divorce mediation process that was far less painful, financially and emotionally, than the court process. A huge relief after the stories I had heard from others going through the same process.

I used her back in 2009 when my now ex and I were thinking of getting a divorce. Should have done it back in 2009! Anyways, she was very professional and patient throughout our process. She helped us start the divorce process. We ended up reconcile and ended our service. I would highly suggest mediation and collaborative law over going to court and getting an attorney. It will save you thousands!

Lorna helped us in our divorce settlement. She is calm personality and a good listener. She tries to hear both side and help both resolve disagreement by suggesting a common solution that works for all while staying as neutral as possible. I wish no one ever go through pain of split family but if at all it comes to that mediation is the way to go unless you want to loose your fortune in legal fees. She not only a good mediator but very professional in paperwork submitted to court. Once we signed she took care of all court paperwork and last thing we hear is court granted the dissolution. I am very grateful for Lorna. I anticipated a lengthy, emotional & stressful divorce. Lorna's calm demeanor, honesty and attention to detail made this unfortunate experience a tolerable one. She responds to emails and phone calls in a timely manner, and she also gave me affordable options on the retainer. I never once felt that it was about the money.

Ms. Jaynes is an incredible lady and I could not be happier with her advice and services. She helped me out while in a very stressful and confused time in my life. She will respond to e-mails at all hours of the day and she even made herself available on a day that she was not supposed to be taking in clients. The sign of a good conciliator is that his clients find avenues of negotiation when before they only saw hot button issues.
I hired Lorna Jaynes between 2010 and 2011 to help me with a divorce that had been well prepared on the other side since at least 2007. Sadly there was no room for conciliation but there was ample room for involvement of the children and escalation of costs.
Lorna was efficient, practical, highly professional and her help was invaluable especially at times when I had a hard time figuring out right from wrong.

After dealing with a bunch of money hungry shark types of attorneys who did not actually care about putting my children's best interests first and spending thousands of dollars on much overzealous litigation I met and retained Lorna Jaynes services. I wish I had met her sooner. She always looks at the situation objectively and tries to come up with workable real world solutions that are fair, appropriate, and realistic without trying to extract every last penny from your bank account. We found Lorna to be very personable and understanding - which took the edge off of the proceedings since, even an amicable divorce requires a lot of paperwork and is stressful. She helped us feel very at ease.
