Services
Our mission at Bethesda Gardens Assisted Living and Memory Care is to serve seniors by enriching their physical, emotional and spiritual health in our intimate community. Since 1959, our parent company Bethesda Senior Living Communities has been providing quality service to our country's aging population, and continues to serve with excellence through our independent, assisted living and memory care communities and through benevolent outreach.
I began serving seniors 24 years ago at a skilled nursing facility. After 13 years in that setting, I found my way to assisted living; where I have spent the last 11 years. During this time, I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration from University of Phoenix. I feel it is a privilege to work where residents call home, with a strong team of people that have the same passion and commitment of caring for seniors.
We provide long-term and short-term assisted living, as well as memory care for residents with most stages of Alzheimer's or dementia. We have a highly-experienced team well-trained team of professionals dedicated to serving all the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of our residents. Our goal is to provide a stimulating environment where residents get to know each other and our team by name.
Bethesda Gardens Assisted Living and Memory Care is part of Bethesda Senior Living Communities a national faith-based, not-for-profit organization headquartered in Colorado Springs.

The company was founded in 1959, when Rev. Charles Turner implemented his vision to establish a nursing home business with a two-fold purpose: to provide quality care for the elderly in his community and to generate revenues to bring hope to those living in poverty around the world.Today, the company operates 20 senior communities across 17 campuses-independent living, assisted living and memory care-throughout six states.
The most important quality for our team members is a devotion to service. As a faith-based organization, Bethesda Gardens Assisted Living and Memory Care serves seniors and their families by enriching their physical, emotional and spiritual health in an intimate, close-knit community.

As part of Bethesda Senior Living Communities (BSLC) we offer a rewarding work environment and a competitive salary and benefits package, as well as ongoing training programs to ensure our team is up-to-date on the latest in industry advances and standards of care.BSLC invests in new team members through a thorough hiring and screening process, and an intensive on-boarding program, with peer mentoring for key roles.

I was disappointed that although this facility has an assisted living side that graduates to a memory care side, they were lacking in accommodating someone with worsening memory issues. The majority of the staff on the assisted living side were not trained in how to deal with a resident who did not quite need memory care but still needs redirection. Also, their outdoor space was limited because it had a gate that lead out onto the preserve so someone with increasing memory issues could not enjoy the outdoor space.

Trying to get a hold of staff is like pulling teeth. Most of the residents I speak to are bored with the activities. Everyone stays in their little clicks. The food is not good. I've see my mom go down hill from when she first got here.

Dawn Rizzo was incredibly professional, kind, and very focused on helping us find aplace within Bethesda Gardens for my mother. She knew we were under a lot of stress at the time and her efficiency in getting back to us was on Point. I would also like to give a shout out to Joy the Head nurse. Thank you Both for your compassion and professionalism during a very difficult time for our family.

The wonderful staff at Bethesda Gardens has made a difficult time in our lives much, much better. They treat my Mom like gold and they are always on top of everything. They communicate with me often and keep me in the loop. I feel much better knowing she is in a loving and caring place. We consider ourselves very lucky to have found this place. It's also a beautiful place inside and out.

Residents have a lot of activities but the meals are just so-so, too much chicken.

My mother lived in the memory care unit for 7 months before she passed. I spent a lot of time visiting her and had the chance to observe the staff several hours a week. I can not say enough kind things about how we were treated and the care my mother received. I was so impressed that they were proactive. One time a staff member found a class ring on the floor and called to see if it belonged to my mom. I always found my mother, and all the residents, well cared for and treated so respectfully. We were blessed to have found them.

While touring with the new executive director, I appreciated that he was willing to get an apartment ready to suit my immediate need, however I found him to lack self awareness and empathy as he pressured me to make a decision and kept putting words in my mouth. It was so off-putting, I decided to go ‘to the competition’ despite the gorgeous facility.
