Coastal Environments, Inc (CEI) has provided environmental services in the area of applied science, planning, and cultural resources since 1967. The CEI team has practiced the concept that the application of natural processes and planning principles to the management of natural systems leads to the successful integration of economic development and resource conservation.

Services
Coastal Environments, Inc. provides environmental services related to planning and resource management, regulatory compliance, environmental investigations and characterizations, litigation consulting, spill response, and restoration and monitoring. The biologists and ecologists in this division possess extensive experience in the areas of environmental compliance and biological investigations.
Coastal Environments, Inc., has established a good working relationship with regulatory agencies on the federal, state, and local level, while helping both public and private entities achieve compliance with various laws, regulations, authorities, related statutes, and orders including but not limited to: Clean Water Act; Coastal Zone Management; Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899; Threatened and Endangered Species Act; Marine Sanctuary Act; Archaeological and Historic Preservation Act; Fish and Wildlife Coordination Act and Coastal Barriers Resources Act.
In 1966, Congress passed the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) to recognize the historical and cultural foundations of the United States. Section 106 of the NHPA stipulates that Federal agencies must consider the effects of all Federally funded or permitted projects (such as wetlands and discharge permits) on historic properties.
As a company with a long history and commitment to restoring habitat loss in both coastal Louisiana and the greater Gulf Coast Region, our multidisciplinary team of biologists, ecologists, and restoration practitioners provide the professional services necessary to help restore a healthy and resilient coast where local communities and coastal ecosystems thrive together.
Coastal Environments, Inc., has over 20 years of experience implementing design build projects that include ReefBlksm and other living shoreline systems. Projects have been successfully constructed and completed in all 5 Gulf states where both large scale and small-scale restoration of shorelines have been targeted.
