Jim's Towing was founded in 1968 by James A. Poupard. Located at Exit #15 on I-75 midway between Detroit, Mi. and Toledo Oh., with the help of family, friends, and employees it wasn't long before a bigger location was needed. The storage and mechanical repair along with part of the towing/recovery business was then moved to it's present location at 1012 Franklin Street in Monroe, just 2 miles west.
Jim owned and operated several other businesses over the years however his penchant for his towing business never faded. Unfortunately, declining health forced him to sell his businesses. Current owner Tim started working at Jim's Towing in 1986 in the truck tire repair and road service field but shifted over to the towing side of the business after helping out on a few recoveries and getting bitten by the towing bug.

His is proud to not only be a level 6/7 WreckMaster, but also a 2008 Top Ten WreckMaster and most recently the 2014 WreckMaster of the Year.

Had to get my car towed to the dealer early this morning, which was over 40 miles away. Triple AAA connected me with Jim’s Towing. Spoke with April who was so kind at such an early hour. She sent a tow truck right away. The driver, Kenn, was very knowledgeable and kind. He handled my car with care and addressed my questions. The icing on the cake was that I really enjoyed speaking with him during the drive. It was like talking to an uncle or grandpa who has great wisdom to share. I will never allow this company to touch one of my vehicles again. Had my vehicle towed 8 miles after a minor accident, police called this company, not me. The total bill was $768 for the tow service, which included 5 add on fees. That is nearly 3X higher than normal and customary charges for this type of service. I called to inquire about why the invoice was so high. They offered no concessions on the ridiculous additional charges and were rather rude to me. They even stated that I must pay in cash to receive my vehicle back from their impound lot!! It felt like extortion in my opinion. This business

My husband's a semi driver and missed the memo that the place where he parks his regular truck was being repaired and he couldn't park there. We immediately called Jim's towing to resolve the issue. Everyone there was so polite and understanding. The issue was resolved efficiently without any problems. I guess, you'd just have to understand that they're being paid to do a job, too. It's not personal. Anyways, back to work for the husband in a timely fashion, thanks to the great people at Jim's towing!

Thank goodness for Jim’s Towing! My husband broke down 100 miles from home in Monroe on Sat. 9/4 (a holiday weekend too!)with his boat trailer. His brake fluid leaked out while he was out fishing. Called AAA and they sent Jim’s. Pretty darn quick service and so friendly and professional!
He made it home safe and so did the truck lol. The tow truck driver was so pleasant and professional. No issues with them taking my AAA. All covered! Thank you, thank you, thank you for such great and friendly service. Keeping your business card in his wallet as he fishes down that way often…lol.

I received two rows from this company at two differlicatons. Once when my car broke down and another when my car needed to be taken to get fixed. I received excellent service from the dispatchers, April and Holly. They really listened to my concerns and did their best to get the trucks to me. Brandon and Kyle were friendly and professional. They secured my van on their bed so it would not fall off and they worked well with the people who were at the locations where my car needed to be towed to and from. I highly recommend this towing service.
