Was pleasantly surprised by this place. Wait staff was friendly, they brought out mini muffins while we waited for our food, and each thing I ate was above expectation. I ordered chicken fried steak and first of all it was a real chicken fry. Not that's crumbling breading you normally would get from a breakfast place. Secondly it was obviously real steak pounded out, not some chuck ran through a machine that essentially makes it ground beef. The last thing I had was the biscuit and gravy. The biscuit is what you could expect , light and flakey but the gravy... the gravy sums up this place perfectly

Emily has amazing service and im thankful for her constant checking in at our table. Melissa the server has a terrible attitude and made us feel uncomfortable the entire time even asking for a refill of coffee when she had the pot in her hand and only attending to other tables in her interest. I brought my parents here because I love this place. They had a terrible experience and felt uncomfortable. Will not be returning.

Got to give this place a five star everything they serve you man is good and the plates have extra food is on point service was A1 and that biscuit and gravy wow Stephanie was on point with everything that we needed foe the four of us and we walked out with full bellies wanting to go to sleep afterwards

Old River Grill at Calloway, my daughter and I were sat at the back of the patio, we were ignored once we placed our order. We wanted refills of water, waiter never checked back in with us. People all around us were getting food. Table that came in 20 minutes after us received food two items that looked exactly like what we ordered. Went to look for manager. She comped or meal. But honestly the 55 minutes it took, well let's just say I won't be going back there any time soon.

I can't stress enough how critical it is to have friendly service, because in some establishments, it's not. Fortunately, Amber was hard at it, working with her wonderful team on The Fourth of July, but making sure that I was greeted in a friendly manner and had a perfect dining experience. She was highly accommodating and checked on me frequently. The food was outstanding as usual. Both locations are great! Bakersfield is fortunate to have a couple of Old River Grills, that celebrate Lake Isabella and vicinity.

I am a breakfast connoisseur and this place is the best in town. The staff is extremely friendly and my server was very attentive. Both the shrimp omelette and the lobster asparagus omelette were amazing as well as the biscuit and gravy once they were served hot. It's not often you find a breakfast place that serves extraordinary not so ordinary breakfast items. My hat's off to the chef and to the owners of this unique place for taking the chances that they do. The food was outstanding and I will definitely be back when I come to this area again.

First off the other location is great. This was my first time eating at this location. My girlfriend and I were seated promptly. It took about 10 minutes for the waitress to come and get a drink order which isn't ideal but ok. She didn't write anything down and had to ask again what my girlfriend ordered. We also didn't get any waters at the start. Then it took another 10 minutes just for the drinks to come out and this was all after the morning rush.
After that the waitress took our order and again didn't write anything down. I ordered no mushrooms with my San Francisco scramble

Opening for dine in (outdoor patio) and take out during COVID - went on a Saturday morning around 10:30 and there was already a line!
Big menu with basically any breakfast items you can think of and some pretty creative ones! We got chicken fried steak with hash browns and bourbon street omlet. I personally didn't love the chicken fried steak and thought that it was lacking a bit flavors - my husband enjoyed it though! The bourbon street sauce (Cajun cream sauce) was super flavorful and delicious.
Also got the deep fried French toast to share - probably 1000 calories but still worth it
