Come on into our buffet style restaurant for breakfast and have a fresh omelet made right before your eyes or delight yourself with some of Hodel's famous fried chicken.
Our catering is the real deal. We can handle anywhere from 50 to 4,000 guests. Best of all, we can supply your event with fine china, flatware, stemware, quality disposable ware, or linen per person. Furthermore, we offer plated meals upon request! From an Hors D'oeuvres party to a full course dinner, customize your meal from our extensive menu.
We have five beautiful banquet rooms that accommodate anywhere between 20 people to 500 guests. Our banquet halls have it all and our staff is ready to prepare and serve any affair. We cater weddings, birthday parties, retirement dinners, corporate meetings, family reunions, and more. Our staff plans your event with great attention to detail and genuine hospitality.

I was there for Thanksgiving Dinner and what a wonderful experience that was. Before I left home I told myself I want sweet potatoes, dressing and turkey. And of course desert always. The sweet potatoes were just like I like them the dressing was the best I have ever had, and I mean better than my own and turkey, and tri tip. They were very well staffed, efficient and very nice. The flavor was perfect and the food was cooked to perfection. I will be there again next year for sure. Job Well Done !!!! They Get A Gold Star.

I don't like most American-food restaurants and especially not breakfast or buffet restaurants because the food is so often bland and uninspired (I can cook unseasoned omelets at home thank you very much ðŸ˜) but this breakfast buffet was a welcome surprise, it was excellent! A wide variety of delicious foods for every taste. The quality was high for a very reasonable price. I would absolutely come back.

¤ï¸A must try in Bakersfield!!!! This is REAL COUNTRY GOURMET. I feel like it’s almost worth the drive from LA! Flavorful choices that screams yummmm in your taste buds!!! Thick bacon 🥓, fresh homemade breads n bagels, omelets, fresh hand breaded chicken daily, orange juice etc etc Price is very reasonable and very spacious. No long waits. Fully staffed and very cordial waiters. Sufficient parking on site. Sundays the brunch menu has everything 👌FYI

This place is super good and easy for a quick bite, or to hang out a little longer. We came for breakfast. The potatoes and waffles were probably my favorite here, but the cinnamon rolls are also seriously delicious. They have scrambled eggs out, but you can also order an omelette or eggs over easy, or however you want them, which is really neat. There's a whole fruit bar, yogurt, granola, cereal, oatmeal, biscuits and gravy, sausage, bacon, all sorts of jams, melted butter and hot syrup for the waffles, whipped cream and strawberry sauce, muffins, cupcakes, cobbler, and a mushroom-sausage stir

I came in for dinner with a party of four. They have one of the best salad bars here. Three types of soup, wide variety of dinner entrees including tri-tip, beef tips over mashed potatoes or rice, deep pit meat, fried chicken, chicken with lemon and cappers, lasagna and various vegetables.
Most of the items I tasted were really pretty good.
Save room for desserts, vast assortment of desserts, something for everyone.

I love Hodels but this last year has been a disaster, regardless of COVID. I have used Door Dash and 3 times, I have waited an extensive amount of time for them to confirm the order (upward of 30 to 45 minutes) only to have the Dasher get there, wait along period of time, then Hodels suddenly cancels my orders. This is approximately 1 hour after ordering. I could have ordered elsewhere, received it, and eaten in the same amount of time. The orders I have gotten are always wrong. Food was great as usual. But if you are requiring masks amd gloves around food then enforce it. Guess as long as pandemic is around we will not eat there. Husband and wife not wearing mask around food buffet. Husband kept giving off little coughs while serving himself without covering his mouth. Mentioned it to waitress and she said should would remind people as she went around. Both husband and wife did it again. Husband again coughing around food. We did not get 2nds after that. We left.

Didn't want to cook dinner and wanted to support a local business. I'm glad I decided to go to Hodel's! Customer service was awesome and selection of items is great for the price of about $12!! Hodel's observing all COVID-19 protocols. Great price for the amount of food for one person. Will go visit again.

When I lived in Bako, there was no restaurant I'd rather visit than Hodel's. If it's been around for more than half a century, there are plenty of good reasons.
I've been to buffets all over California, Nevada and Arizona. I have never seen one that warranted more than two stars. Asian buffets are the worst. They put their fresh junk out at 9:30 am, then let it sit and dry out all day. By the time people are truly hungry, the hot entrees are lukewarm, stiff and sticky. The desserts are dry, tasteless, stale and petrified. That imitation ice milk (which they call ice

Hodel's is one of those roadside restaurants that's both kind of awesome but also kind of gross. After a butt-numbing 10 hours in the car, we needed a break and stopped to give this place a try.
The restaurant is old, worn out, and dirty. There was a long line of old folks when we arrived around 5 pm, and that's usually a sign that either a restaurant is really good or really cheap. Think of it as a poor man's Golden Corral or Old Country Buffet, but both of those options are far, far better than this place.
The buffet tables reminded me of the ones in my public school lunchroom
