Ours began in 1943 when, at the age of 9, Jim Demos began working with his father Pete in their small family owned restaurant in Birmingham, Alabama.

The waitress was so very slow and did no follow up. We both got soup and salad! She brought the soup and the salads were 15 min later. The salad was nothing but chunks of iceberg and a carrots. They put the… plastic containers of salad dressing in the salad. No one wand their fresh food tainted by the plastic someone touched on the outside. Asking for the bill also too a bit of time. We sat at 1:35 got a salad at 1:50 soo!

First time trying out this restaurant after recently buying a house here in Murfreesboro. Definitely not going back. I was on a tight schedule but wanted to pick up food for my room mate so I ordered my food online to pick up. I get there and had to wait 30 more minutes until the food was ready. I almost left without getting my food because I had a very important client waiting for me for a business dinner. The place wasn’t even busy! There was a couple waiting for their food as well and said they had been waiting for 45 mins after the time they were told to pick up their food. The “Kids”

We have been going to Dems’s seems like forever. We went there Friday afternoon the 7th of January our server was great! The food not so much. I got the pot roast I used to love. I got a few potatoes maybe 4 and then the pot roast was a lot of fat. The salad was terrible to for my husband and his meal was not good either. The only thing good was the soup. I do not think we will ever go back. We expected a good meal but was very disappointed!!

Ordered take out and the pickup time stated was 4:15pm. The order hadn’t even been started by the time we arrived. The staff was unhelpful and on their phones a majority of the time. We waited there an hour and finally got our fettuccine Alfredo at 5:15. I was pretty shocked $20 pasta looked like this and the soup was also concerning.
I do want to add the manager was remorseful and upset by the staffs behavior so he refunded our bill. However, I don’t think we’ll ever return.

They're severely understaffed. The refills and bread barely existed, food was fine but not what it used to be. The hostess' are typically not smiling and unhappy to be there, sadly, which I understand. Although, when I hosted, I'd be thankful to have free time to stand there and talk to other employees, so I don't understand why they can't talk to customers with a bit of happiness in their tone. Visiting from Chicago, this was my second time dining at this restaurant. The service was outstanding! We were a party of 10 and our wait staff were truly Awesome! My meal was not 5 star quality, but the service was 5 star. With regards to my meal I really only enjoyed the soup and broccoli. I could tell my steak was not of high quality by the taste and texture. November 2021: Decided to give Demos a try for dinner…been over 4 years since I gave up on them due to substandard food and service. The bar is now open for dining…I hate taking up a table for 4 when I am by myself. Kaitlin was behind the bar and got me started with a beer and water while I looked over the menu. I ordered the K.C. Strip Steak (medium rare) along with chili spaghetti and opted for the “deluxe salad toppings” on the side salad. The Demos bread was also provided with the requested butter, but not the same “chunk” of real butter, some kind of butter spread.

Went here last night. Not extremely busy but had a 15-30 minute wait. The bar is closed and I asked why and they told me they were using the space for takeout. I would have preferred having a glass of wine at the bar while I waited. The meatballs were good but I had to ask for more sauce as it had a small spoonful over 6 balls. My husband ordered the ribeye which was a flat dull color. The steaks are cooked on a flattop so they are not that flavorful. We had a fabulous server who made the trip worthwhile. I would give this place a 3.5 star review and think of it as an upscale Greek diner.

Over the past 2 or 3 years, the quality, service, value, and overall experience have been slipping. The service was awful the last time we dined in. Since then we've still tried to support Demos' through… takeout. However, takeout service is slow and inaccurate. Not to mention, the food is often cold or incorrectly cooked. They charge way too much money for the food to be given to the customer in such a sad state. When their famous soup comes out cold, with crunchy rice and no salt...something is terribly wrong.

Found this place looking on Google maps. Not from this area and was looking at the menu online. It popped up saying I could put myself on the list to be seated as I drove there. Couldn't go wrong luring me in that way. There was a crowd there which is a good sign. Had the soup to start with and it was barely room temperature. The salad was good. The 2 pork chop dinner was exactly the way I ordered it. The server Nichole made sure drink was filled and kept checking to make sure it was going good. Was really looking forward to Demos after being discharged from the hospital from having my baby. I’m very disappointed, we ordered curbside pickup and the food was 20 minutes late. Come home to find that the… food was missing items and we paid extra for a side of green beans that you could see the bottom of Togo carton. I usually check the items before leaving- but I was not with my husband when he picked the food up. We love demos but this was really disappointing and will not order Togo again.

The limp salad was bagged lettuce that tasted like it was unwashed, not even a crouton to be found. Salad dressing was homemade as stated. Roasted chicken and rice soup was okay but salty. Bread tasted like it had freezer burn. Steak was cooked to order with minimal seasoning but the potato looked like it was dropped on the floor and was over cooked because the flesh under the skin was reddish brown. Soup is good but that is about it $10 for burned cheese toast and eggs in the spinach is gross and not mentioned in the description or shown in the picture. the waitress told us that the hash browns were like waffle house and didn't mention the lunch special. they left the mushrooms off of my spaghetti and a couple more things

We had a party of 17 stop for lunch in Lebanon today on our way to CamaroFest in Bowling Green, they are short staffed and restaurant not open at full capacity, but manager was very accommodating in getting us… seated in tables near each other and service was great as well as the food! Demo’s never disappoints but today they got a above and beyond rating! 🤩

Our local family took us here for dinner. The customer service was great! The manager was on the floor helping out even, which says a lot about how much they care for their business. Food was excellent. The waiting room was full, so be prepared for a wait but it went very fast and was totally worth it. All the locals highly recommended this and it did not disappoint.

Took my out of State Guest to Demos in Hendersonville on April 26th. We were not in a rush so we had drinks & chatted while awaiting our orders. After nearly a 1/2 hr had passed, our server approached asking… what we had ordered as the computer system lost the orders. Ok, we reordered and enjoyed our rolls. A bit later a Mgr. came out stating that the Tilapia was not to his standard to serve. So we both had sirloin medallions, both ordered medium. After avoiding this place.. PRE Covid.. I decide I'd try again, 1 because I was meeting someone here ( first date) it seemed very different too me. Of course it was on a Saturday night and busy. But once we got seated, the waiter was very nice and food was delicious.. We went back on the same date a year later. I do appreciate that they are taking Covid Precautions. My first Demos' experience was in my pre-Yelp days at their downtown Nashville location. I cannot recall enough of that meal to make much of a comment other than the pasta was "eh" - which is my point. I don't remember anything stellar about that meal.
Some years later, I excitedly drove all the way from Nashville to Murfreesboro for a large group dinner at this location.
Nashville had just turned the corner into a full-on culinary explosion around that time, and in hearing Murfreesboro residents talk about Demos' you'd think it was Michelin Star rated.

Plus this place is packed @ 8:30pm. There have been many time that I have gone to another restaurant due to the wait.
