Psychological Consultants is a community based private practice that offers counseling and psychological testing in Newark, Ohio. The staff is comprised of Psychologists, Licensed Independent Social Workers and Professional Clinical Counselors. We are all licensed in the state of Ohio to diagnose and treat mental health issues.
Our goal is to promote a healthy and therapeutic environment that will encourage those who seek counseling to grow and explore emotional or psychological issues that may be interfering with their ability to live a happy and productive life. Services
Our focus is on building support and teaching skills to allow youth to develop to their fullest potential. Whether our primary client is an adolescent, parent, or family, the guiding principles of treatment are optimism, hope, and respect. It is our job to help calm the waters for those teens caught in the "storm".
Emotions are healthy and often occur in response to a life event or stressor. They do not discriminate and effect everyone. You can't see them but they influence and effect everything we do. Anger is one of these naturally occuring emotions. Anger is a natural way to adapt to threats and defend ourselves when needed.
During the course of our lifetimes, we all experience different levels of anxiety, depending on the environmental stresses that we are forced to confront. Some research has shown that a mild amount of anxiety has optimal effects upon an individual's performance when compared with no anxiety and excessive amounts.
Counseling for dealing with chronic illness can take many forms. Counseling can be focused on the individual who has an illness or may include family members and caregivers with or without the ill person's involvement. Chronic illness counseling tends to be related to three general areas of concern.

Your personal coach will use a process of inquiry and suggestion to build motivation and the skill necessary for taking appropriate action toward achieving your desires. This support allows the development of a happier, more fulfilled life experience.
