Dr. Casey Packer is a certified optometric glaucoma specialist and therapeutic optometrist in Austin, Texas. He was born in the Dallas area but raised in East Texas. He attended the University of Texas at Austin receiving a degree in biology. He then enrolled in the four year doctorate of optometry program at the University of Houston.

Dr. Packer has made a personal pledge to participate in a medical mission trip every year. Without the support and patronage of our amazing patients he would not be able to be involved in these trips. We cannot thank you enough for allowing us to help others who are less fortunate than us. PACKER HAS participated in numerous programs for underprivileged families in the austin area for years.
Ocular surface disease is now quantifiable. Dry Eye symptoms affect the vast majority of our population and now we can accurately treat dry eyes thanks to this technology. In less than a second more than 200 degrees of the retina CAN BE captured in a high resolution image. Allows the patient to avoid being dilated in most cases!.
Living with keratoconus can be very challenging. Finding proper treatment for keratoconus can sometimes seem even more challenging. Dr. Packer specializes in treating keratoconus utilizing a variety of the latest technologies and instrumentation. I recently had an eye exam and was fitted for new glasses. The glasses took a long time to arrive. However, I am sure this was due to Covid related supply chain issues. Ugh!! When they finally arrived, they fit great, look great and best of all I see better than ever! A special shout out to Zalyssa who always brightens my day with her smile. She truly knows how to take EXCELLENT customer service to the next level!

Changing eye doctors after 15 years was scary but after the most complete examination ever, I realized how little I was receiving from the other practice. Yesterday I was treated with respect and kindness from everyone. I wasn't rushed around and the doctor listened to me, educated me and you aren't just another patient. The facility is gorgeous. AND I spent $100 less. Come see what you have been missing.

Took my 2 year old in to see Dr. Wahl. She was fantastic! Playful, fun, knowledgeable, and made it such a great first eye experience for him. I wasn't sure what to expect or how he might react and they did such a great job keeping him entertained while checking out his eyes. I loved them so much I'm switching eye doctors! Front desk and techs were also super friendly and great with kiddos. Highly recommend for the whole family.

Great people!! Doctor Packer is an expert ophthalmologist and the optometry staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The facilities are state of the art and very cool. There’s a wide selection of frames to choose from, and my wife and I have bought our frames and lens there. We are planning to go back to buy sun glasses soon. For those on a fixed income it’s good to know they take Care Credit as a form of payment. They have a guarantee that they stand behind with the integrity implied in their name.

When I saw that this place had over 100 five-star reviews, I cancelled my eye exam with Target Optical and I'm so glad I did! Most thorough exam I've ever had. Dr. Chelsea was super friendly and explained everything she did as she went. She even discussed my eye issues caused by my daily allergies and gave me a few recommendations on how to treat them. After the exam, Cody did an awesome job helping me find a pair of frames. Dr. Chelsea Wahl is an amazing optometrist! I have been going to the eye doctor for over 25 years and have never had such a thorough and informative examination. Dr. Wahl was great at explaining the why behind some of the challenges I've been having with my eyes and gave me some great solutions. We spent an hour with our daughter looking for frames she would like. We found one out of all the frames that she really liked. Getting my checked at my favorite eye place ever! Let me clarify...40yrs of eye doctors spanning 4 states. This is hands down the BEST practice I have ever been to. Tried a diff one last month bc it was closer and I was so disappointed I called VSP and asked for them to allow me to do a do over for my annual. (They did). I will never go anywhere else as long as I live here. BET.

From start to finish my experience was great. My son got the cutest rayban frames and he gets compliments everywhere we go. He's 6 and this was his first optometrist visit and it was well with the almost hour drive from Cedar Park. He was comfortable the entire tome. The entire staff was professional and well trained to deal with children. It was important to find him a place that has a great children's selection so i could get frames and have the doctors visit all in one place. We are more than pleased. Thanks Lone Star.

I originally came here for a pricey procedure. This procedure is one I was originally told I needed by another clinic. While I may still need that procedure at some point, after some testing, Dr. Packer and Dr. Wahl felt it best to try some other less invasive options first. Seriously amazing staff. Dr. Wahl is awesome. She has a great demeanor, is easygoing yet extremely knowledgeable and professional. One of the staff members went through all the initial eye tests with me and he was great as well. The process was thorough, fast, and easy... I had reservations about being pressured into buying glasses on the spot (happened to me before at another eye doctor office) but Dr. Wahl and Kodie (who walked me through my frame options) were both an absolute pleasure to deal with. I rarely write reviews but I seriously can't recommend this place more.

Still the best. Why waste words? I come here every January to update my glasses & contact prescriptions, and then Dr Packer & I talk about the newest restaurants in town. What more do I want?
What's different this year is they moved to a bigger & better location, there's a cool coffeehouse on one end of this complex and a great steakhouse on the other, and if I'm driving down to Southwest Parkway for whatever, I'll make an afternoon of it. They didn't like the "vision insurance" company I have this year, but with my regular medical it was a $40 copay

I love Dr Packer and his staff. Great customer service and I love the text message reminders. Dr Packer is honest and down to earth. He will tell you when something is not worth the money, which is always appreciated.
I also had a scare where I suddenly could not see out of one eye, called the office in tears and they fit me in right away. Turns out it was an ocular migraine, which had never happened to me before so I was freaked out. Great facility, great people, great service, overall great experience. I lucked into Lone Star Eye after moving to the area a few months ago.
In particular, I've appreciated as they've held my hand every step of the way through getting LASIK, from answering my myriad initial questions to recommending a surgeon to conducting my follow-ups to recommending eye drops to accelerate healing, etc. I've had a great experience with this office and every person in it. Definitely recommend!
