Jackman Eye

I have been a patient of Jackman Eye for the past 15 years. I adored Dr. Jackman and was sad to hear when he left this world and so quickly. Luckily, there is an amazing trio of knowledgable young women that carried the practice forward. Dr. Tekell has been caring for my eyes for the past few years now and I couldn’t be happier!

Dr. Tekell and the doctors & staff of Jackman Eye are so excellent and beyond the typical experience at the eye doctor. I’ve been a patient of Dr. Tekell for several years and have always enjoyed the warm, caring experience she & her staff provide. I am incredibly impressed with this practice. The office was beautiful and clean. The machines were state of the art. The staff was very friendly and efficient. But most importantly, Dr. Tekel took the time to get to know me and understand what my admittedly complicated needs were when it came to glasses and contacts. I cannot recommend Dr.Tekel enough—she is great.

My experience with them over the years has been consistently solid. They seem to stagger their appointments very well and the staff is pleasant & engaged.
Note: I would prefer to be warned about the extra charge for eye imaging (or anything beyond the standard co-pay) in advance -- but that's just as much a complaint about our healthcare & rotten insurance system.

I had a good experience working with the doctors and technicians during my first visit. They were friendly and informative. However, there is clearly some incompetence with whoever is handling the orders.
After my first visit to get my prescription, I have been trying for a month to get Jackman Eye to order some contacts for me. Originally, they said they would get me some trial contacts. Dr. Tekell and her team that helped navigate me through my first visit were extremely sweet and welcoming. The technology used in the office is unlike anything I’ve experienced before with an annual eye exam. Health and safety protocols were clearly present and top of mind, which made the visit even more comfortable. Plentiful parking and easy checkout.

If first impressions are everything then I know all I need to know about this place after my first visit this morning! Staff is warm and attentive. Dr. Satrio was professional and caring, willing to engage in conversation about test results, provide definitions, and ensure comprehension throughout the exam. At their lense center Tony is an absolute delight. Tony showed great care, was knowledgeable about the products, and guided me to the frame that suited my personality and made me feel confident when wearing them.

Highly recommend Jackman. I have now been seeing them for a few years and it's always a wonderful experience. All of the staff is warm and courteous. The office is very clean and nicely decorated. The team keeps you informed about every stage of your care. Dr. Tekell is a dream! She is very nice and thorough during your appointment. You feel like she is taking her time to care for you and explain everything.

I am not a patient of Jackman Eye, but they were nothing but accommodating when I called with an issue needing scleral lens saline solution (that nobody carries!) from the Heart Hospital with my father across the street. They treated me like I was not only a patient but they’re most important patient- so warm, accommodating, and helpful even when it was out of their normal practice! Everyone was accommodating, gracious, and kind I could not recommend the more… and what a beautiful and clean facility!!! I will rethink sending anyone anywhere but here in the future. My children and I have been coming to Jackman Eye for 15+ years back with Dr Jackman. He created such a wonderful atmosphere and recruited the most knowledgeable doctors and kind staff I've ever come across in a medical office. When your eye doctor spends more time with you then your family practice doctor, that is saying a lot. I just saw Dr Huser yesterday and the care she took discussing my issues is commendable.

Service from every single file staff member, and especially Dr. Tekell is magnificent and very personal! Dr. Tekell is my eye doctor forever and her staff are a true team, they act like family. Highly recommend!

Wow this optometric office is so friendly. Dr. Tekell gives such a thorough exam and really helped me with my right eye not focusing well. Explained how prism in my glasses could help and showed me in office how it would feel. The technician Ashley was so nice and fast! Jan at the front desk is always so friendly and updated my information quickly.

Walking over to the optical boutique was nice to just focus on glasses. Tony is so friendly and warm as soon as I walked in. It felt boutique and curated to specific eyewear brands. I would really recommend this place.

When I first moved here 10 years ago, I decided to visit Dr. Jackman and I have never shopped anywhere else. For a good reason. The late Dr. Jackman is no longer with us, but his legacy lives on with the staff that have been there for years and Dr. Huser, the new owner is taking great care of patients. I love working with Tony who helps me pick out new glass frame as well as fashionable sunglasses every year. Never getting my eyes checked elsewhere!

As a UT student who is originally from DFW, it's been a hassle to constantly have to wait to go back home for a checkup, in addition to finding the best value for contact lenses. I recently ran out of contacts and had no time to make the 3-hour trek back to Dallas, so I made a last-minute appointment with Jackman Eye.

The lady who answered the phone was extremely friendly and helped me set up my appointment with ease. She explained the entire process to me and even let me choose who I wanted to see. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the entire staff

This is a super awesome office!! From the first phone call to the last see ya later, everyone is really nice and so helpful and great with glasses selection and fitting. I love Dr Tekell. She is smart, thorough, caring, really listens and she is so patient. I never feel hurried and really trust her expertise. I used to see Dr. Jackman, so when he passed away I was a little bit leery about who I would see next but even though these are big shoes to fill these ladies rock!! Best eye place ever. I've been going here for years. Used to see Dr. Jackman, who was awesome. When he passed I started seeing Dr. Huser, who is just great. She takes her time with patients. I never feel rushed. I feel like she actually cares about me and my concerns. Everyone in the office is so friendly and welcoming. If they ever have a bad day, they sure don't show it. I am truly in mourning because I just found out they don't take my insurance anymore and I gotta find a new doctor. Maybe l will save up and pay out of pocket. Waaaahhhh.

I came here for a routine check up and a contact lens evaluation with no prior knowledge of this place. Upon arriving, I was greeted and taken care of beautifully by the front desk, promptly taken back to start my appointment with an immensely kind nurse, followed by a thorough and informative appointment with Dr. Tekell. I felt comfortable, welcome, and taken care of the entire time. I loved this place and all the people working seemed authentically happy to be working at this establishment. From the front desk staff to the person who did the preliminary tests to Dr. Raley to the person at the check-out desk, every single person at Jackman Eye is friendly, knowledgable, and helpful!
I was in and out in under an hour, which included a contact lens exam. Dr. Raley made a suggestion to save money using my vision insurance. Overall, it was a terrific experience, and I highly suggest Jackman Eye to anyone needing an eye exam, contact lens, or glasses!

I came back here to get an updated prescription and to replace my scratched lenses around June 20, 2018, while I was briefly back in Texas to prepare a house for new tenant rental. This place is still excellent and I have not yet found another eye exam/glasses place like it.

Tony is still my absolute favorite guy. He took excellent care of me, and got my new glasses ordered and just the entire experience was just fabulous. I have 2 insurances and previously (over 5 years) I only paid a copay. Now the prices have gone up and insurance is not covering contact lense prescription.

Doctors are nice and so is staff. Eye exam is painless and seems thorough.

The check out lady did end up removing the additional $60 charge that was tacked on without my notice. But still sucks to go in for what you think is a covered annual exam with no eye concerns and get a $70 bill. (Since I did not ask for a contact lense prescription.. only the annual exam)
