We create solutions that achieve environmental benefit for society's most critical infrastructure needs. Our decades of experience focused on energy and utilities has made us experts in our industry. Founded by President Anne Marie McGraw in the dining room of her Palo Alto home, the firm's first project was a California Environmental Quality Act document for an oil pipeline.

From those modest beginnings, we have grown into a national business operating out of several offices with staff located throughout the United States. We provide multi-disciplinary environmental services while forging long-term client relationships. Our expertise in the industry is highly regarded and helps ensure our clients' success.
Services
Insignia was founded in 2004 to provide premier consulting service to our niche of energy and utility infrastructure clients facing environmental challenges. We are a full-service boutique consulting firm of experts who provide a broad range of multi-disciplinary environmental services to utility and infrastructure clients across the U.S. while forging long-term relationships.
Our employees have hundreds of years of combined experience in the industry, making us experts in our field. As the founder and President of Insignia Environmental, Anne Marie McGraw is the driving force behind Insignia's greatest accomplishments. Her passion for environmental work began in high school when she joined a volunteer committee that successfully instituted recycling in the downtown business district of her hometown.
Our experts have routed, analyzed, permitted, and/or inspected thousands of miles of pipeline and electric line throughout the country, in addition to compressor stations, substations, meter stations, pumping stations, and appurtenant facilities. Our renewable work has included siting; conducting resource studies; and/or permitting large-scale solar facilities, wind farms, geothermal plants, and hydroelectric dams.
Our staff's engineering and real-world construction experience translates into routing and siting studies that address permitting and constructability factors. Insignia has conducted routing and constraints analyses for numerous projects, including new electric transmission line, substation, solar generation facility, wind farm, natural gas pipeline, and slurry pipeline projects that range in length from only a few miles to several hundred miles.
Insignia has supported our clients by conducting constructability reviews for entire projects, as well as individual project components. Our project managers and seasoned environmental inspectors can help vet projects by reviewing design data and identifying potential flaws that may impede construction, or factors that may cause impacts to any stakeholder in terms of time, cost, or quality.
