Dr. Smith has over 20 years of professional experience in private practice. He enjoys working with patients of all ages. He has specialized in hard to fit contact lenses to help patients with their unique visual needs.
Ortho-K (short for Orthokeratology) is a non-surgical procedure using specially designed contact lenses to gently reshape the curvature of the eye to improve vision. This is a revolutionary non-surgical procedure that eliminates the need for glasses or daytime contact lenses! It improves vision by gently reshaping your eye while you sleep using specially designed contact lenses.
Myopia is more commonly known as nearsightedness or shortsightedness. It refers to vision that is good at close range but not at a distance. It generally occurs because the eyeball is too "long" as measured from front to back, and it affects 42% of people ages 12-54 in the United States. Myopia may lead to serious short and long term complications including an impaired ability to learn, glaucoma, premature cataracts, and a detached retina.
Scleral lenses are large diameter lenses that completely cover the cornea (the clear layer of tissue that covers the colored part of your eye) and extends to the sclera (the white part of the eye). Mr. Pedro Arvizu Huerta suffered from Keratoconus, and after prescribing scleral lenses, they were not only convenient for him but comfortable as well!

I went in for my first ever eye exam. The staff is extremely friendly and professional. I was unsure what to expect on my first eye check up, but I felt comfortable throughout my visit. The staff and Dr. Smith kept things light and jovial, but still very informative. The clinic has a bright, clean, and comfortable atmosphere. I will be coming back here for the foreseeable future.

I am in my late 40s and I don’t think I have ever had a more detailed eye exam! One thing I love about Eyegen vision center is when your glasses are ready, they present them on the most beautiful tray ever. I asked Dr. Ana Chang Smith why they did that, not that I was complaining at all :-) And she said because you have just spent your hard earned money on these glasses and they are a piece of jewelry. Everyone deserves them to be displayed on this beautiful piece of art. I love them! I will take my glasses on a beautiful piece of art any day 🤗

Terrific staff and great service. I really appreciate that their staff are very friendly, that the appointments are taken on time, that the technology is clearly state of the art and that I can trust the results. I use Doctor Smith and she's awesome , same is true for all of their doctors. I highly recommend them to others looking for the top professional Optometrists in Orange County & Los Angeles areas.
