While every aspect of jiu jitsu is important and valid; competition, self-defense, and mixed martial arts fighting, it is the core fundamental art that is central to all of them. This art can be transmitted to anyone, regardless of their athletic attributes. It is this attitude that drives Alpha BJJ.
We strive to offer a low stress learning environment, welcoming to anyone, who wants to learn the art of jiu jitsu regardless of their reasons for doing so. It is our goal to offer highly technical, effective, and safe instruction of the highest caliber. The Rickson Gracie black belt has studied Brazilian Jiu Jitsu since 1995 and is dedicated to sharing his "Hidden Jiu JItsu" throughout the world.

When I joined Alpha I was brand new to the Adult Jiu Jitsu class. I liked that every class starts with the same line drills to teach repetition since these drills are the base foundation for most techniques. The coaches are welcoming and very good at breaking the technique down and correcting when needed. I have also enjoyed attending Muay Thai which is more of a striking class. Overall, I would strongly recommend Alphabjj if you are looking to get into BJJ.

I've traveled and trained at many gyms and I'm proud to call Alpha my home. Alpha has a decent amount of higher belts who have the passion and patience for teaching. The fundamentals class has brought in a great positive group of white belts but is also often attending by higher belts making for a solid Jiu Jitsu foundation class.
The mats are regularly packed for the classes throughout the week. During the weekend classes still run including an open mat every Sunday.
The gym is and has always been very welcoming to the traveling Jiu Jitsu practitioner. After class, new people often

My school closed its doors so I was looking for a new place. Very small place was the first thing I noticed, the next was I heard a lot of name dropping about people the school has trained with. What it came down to for me was the techniques shown were more computation stuff not Self Defense. Maybe I caught them on a bad night but it just wasn't for me. Ill keep looking

Alpha is a great gym to start your Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training or further develop your skills. The gym is culture is extremely welcoming, you will regularly see practitioners from other gyms (myself included) traveling a good distance to train at Alpha because it is a positive environment that encourages growth. The head coach Alex Embry is very knowledgeable and highly skilled at communicating lesson material to students of all experience levels. Alpha puts a great deal of effort into assisting students with learning, lessons are regularly recorded and placed on YouTube for viewing. Also of note
