Well, as a martial arts program, we spend a significant amount of time training in the physical skills for a self defense scenario that we hope we will never face. We teach Shiho Karano Karate-do, an effective and traditional martial arts style.
So what does "Dan" mean anyway? Simply put, "Dan" refers to a level in the Black Belt ranks. At Whole Armor Martial Arts we use a traditional ranking system comprised of "Kyu" levels for color belt students, and "Dan" levels for Black Belt students. Note: This is an Honor Roll of all students who have earned a Shodan rank (1st degree Black Belt) at Whole Armor Martial Arts.
We believe that the Bible, God's Holy Word, sets the standard for living. It is the only inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God, Without error, sufficient and complete. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe in God the Father, Creator and Sustainer of the heavens and the earth, who prepared this life for us and who calls us into His future.
Martial arts is a blast. I enjoy it more each week than the last, more this year than last year. It has given me a great means to stay in shape, a way to learn skills I only dreamed of, and a platform from which to help impact the lives of hundreds of students for the better. All of us have a hole in our life that can only be filled as we get right with God.
Nippon Shiho Karano Ryu is the martial arts style founded by Soke Clement G. Riedner in 1978. However according to the original concept of the term "Ryu", rather than just a single style the Shiho Karano Ryu actually teaches four branches of its art, each maintaining the same concepts and philosophy.

Such a great place for my son and I to learn Martial Arts and the Gospel together! Incredible format for both where you can grow in both regards! Highly recommend. They are great with newby’s having them start with seperate instructors to get the basics before they introduce you to the full class. The support from everyone there was outstanding. Again, whether you are brand new or a seasoned martial artist, you will benefit greatly from this class.

Sensei Hagelganz is a very detailed instructor. His organization makes learning successful. Character is one of the hallmarks of martial arts. If you looking to build character in your children there is no better martial arts school than Whole Armor Martial Arts. Whole Armor teaches a traditional karate style with a large emphasis on Kata. I started in the martial arts 30 years ago and have studied at several schools and in several styles but have never stayed and found a permenant home in the martial arts until attending Whole Armor 6 years ago. My son and I train together, and we are just a two of many examples of the excellent family atmosphere that Whole Armor provides. The physical aspects and practicality of the traditional Japanese Karate taught here is a perfect blend for self-defense, confidence building and self-discipline. Whole Armor is phenomenal! I am unbelievably thankful to be a part of the Whole Armor family. The training is top notch and Hagelganz, Sensei (and the black belt staff) are genuinely concerned with the physical and personal growth of each an every student. Other than my parents, WAMA and Hagelganz, Sensei continue to be the most positive influence in my life. I've been training for nearly 16 years with Whole Armor Martial Arts and wouldn't dream of trading that investment for anything.
