Dragon Star kung fu has been open since 2007. The kung fu style we teach is kajukenbo northern tum pai. It's roots stem back to sijo emperado's kajukenbo self defense system, which was developed in the late 40's, as a combative street art. Northern tum pai was introduced by grand-master Jon Loren as a defensive art that controls and develops the movement of centerline.

I love this school! The instructors are experts in their craft and are great with kids and teens. They have taught my children Kung Fu and how to be responsible thoughtful members of our family and society. I can't imagine not having this school be a part of our family. When you enroll here, the instructors really care about the students and want the absolute best for them.

We love Dragon Star Kung Fu! Our kids really enjoy learning this style of martial arts and they have a lot of fun doing it! Sifu Tom and Sifu Tommy are great with the kids! My son has ADHD and can be a handful at times. They are so patient with him all the time teaching him focus and discipline. There are mega schools out there for martial arts with 30+ kids on the floor, at all levels, but that’s not this school and that’s what we love about it. Less students on the floor, with only kids around their skill level, makes a perfect learning environment and personalized attention! We love our

Dragon Star Kung Fu is exactly what their pledge says. They help the students to develop themselves in a positive manor. They instill confidence in students to avoid anything that will reduce mental growth/ self development. The students work as a team to develop the best in themselves and the other students. The Sifus work on developing common sense before self defense. This is a Kung Fu school; they don’t babysit they teach a martial art that could save your life. They strive for excellence. They are motivated. The best part is the dedication from both teachers and students. My kids all started

My son James has been going to Dragon Star Kung Fu for two years, and he loves it! James has learned so much and is developing and growing as a person thanks to the amazing mentorship of Sifu Tom, Sifu Benita, and the wonderful students at Dragon Star. James has found his passion and his motivation to always do his best and it is fun to watch him and the other students as they grow and learn. Thank you so much for everything Dragon Star!

This place rocks! I've been in martial arts for the majority of my life, and can honestly say this is the most realistic art I've encountered. There is no flashy moves, there is no back flip there or front flip here, but actual movements and combos that can be applied as soon as you leave the school. The instructors are all amazing, and will make sure that you understand what you are being taught before proceeding to the next step. This school isn't a pay to promote type of establishment, and I promise you will feel like you've earned every milestone here. If you are on the fence about joining

I have been here training off and on for 12 yrs. The dynamic of this school has always stayed the same over the years. Everytime I walk through the doors I'm feel like family and am greeted with love and respect! I am currently training here and will continue in Northern Kajukenbo Tum Pai until I die. The Sifu's Black Belts and Underbelts are all very respectful and willing to help where needed. Sifu Tom and Sifu Benita have opened and maintained the best Kung Fu School I've ever been to and have the privalage to call my family!

With so many choices on what martial arts discipline to pursue, let alone a school to learn it, Dragon Star Kung Fu is one of the few you should seriously consider. Here's why:
Dragon Star focuses on real-world, practical self-defense, not flashy, theatrical or unnecessarily complicated techniques just for the sake of "looking cool". Sifu Tom teaches the art of Northern Tum Pai Kajukenbo (the ONLY mixed martial art endorsed by Bruce Lee) which includes Karate, Judo, Jujitsu, Kenpo, Tai Chi and Kung Fu. These disciplines were all incorporated by the founders based strictly on their effectiveness

I enrolled my 2 boys at Dragon Star Kung Fu. My Expectation was that they would gain knowledge of self-defense while picking up a hobby. The experience has turned out to be so much more. You have to understand that both boys are on the Autism spectrum and sometimes require a lot of patience when learning new things. It soon became obvious that Sifu Tom, Sifu B, and the other instructors at Dragon Star not only showed great patience when teaching the boys, but that they really cared for them and wanted to see them succeed as much and I did. In addition to learning the art of Kung Fu they are also

My son has been going to Dragon Star for over two years. I had been to a few other martial arts establishments in the area before coming to Dragon Star and just didn't feel comfortable with them. I liked that there weren't teenagers teaching the kids at Dragon Star. It was always Sifu Tom or Benita who were teaching. They have been patient and yet commanded respect. It felt very much like a family atmosphere. I was also looking for my son to be taught a practical style. As other reviewers have mentioned, there is so much more than a martial art that is taught at this school. One of my favorite
