Great positive user experiences with BETTER on seamlessly business flow and scheduled transactions. Customers support hours mostly anytime of the days, no 9-5 hour, always text back any answers/solution to our questions in the timely manners, very professional. If you are looking to conduct mostly online transactions with great support along the ways, you will love this company. The only face to face was when we closed the loan since we had to notarize our final documents. We can even had the choices to pick anywhere in the US to complete the notarize our closed. Mark Abing and the Better team were simply fabulous. Right from the point of locking my rate, they kept me informed of every next step. They worked all through to maximize my credits. Whenever I needed to talk to Mark, I got him. If he were on another call, someone on the better team would actually find him and have him call back based on my convenience (one time, calling me back after hours). When they said they would fix something, they actually did. This is my second refinancing experience with Better Mortgage and honestly, I won't go anywhere else.

This was the worst experience ever. I've refinanced several times and have never experienced anything like this. Worst customer Service ever and if you have to contact their Title company Better Settlement Services don't even try. They will NEVER answer their phone. I should have funded on November 22 and funds wired but instead they indicate that the mistake on their part was that they didn't wire the correct amount of funds to the funding team and meanwhile I'm left in the dark with no one to communicate to me where the heck is my money for my cash-out refinance. NEVER

Plan to be on the phone 3+ hours of just being on hold with ZERO assistance. They will drop the ball the day prior to someone trying to close on their home. Better sends me a Closing total of 24k and then 28k for closing on a 307,400k home because they are charging me an erroneous amount in taxes. LOL.
I tell them it's wrong once and they actually increase it by an additional 4k! Trying to get on the phone with the people that can assist you is NEAR IMPOSSIBLE! They are ALWAYS out of office or "Out to Lunch".. Yeah okay... No one is able to help me, I would never recommend this

Brooke Manson and her team are the best. They always put us first and no matter the challenge it would get solved. Brooke was available for any questions beyond business hours and always made us feel like she was right there. Our rate was the best we could find and the loan estimate stayed very accurate all the way until closing. I recommend Better Mortgage to anyone who is buying a home!

Had an amazing experience with Alex's Team out here in VA. Team is great, the site is great - you'll love it, its very easy to navigate and get an understanding of where you are at in the process, what is needed of you, what the team is currently processing. Couldn't recommend this service enough. On top of it all, the deal I got from this company was far better than any other lender we came across. Very thankful for the company and the team :)

I used Better Mortgage after realizing that I am getting duke from a loan officer. I can not believe how great the mortgage was. It seems too good to be true. I keep thinking that there was going to be a catch every step on the way. There was never any catch..just really good interest rate. Save your time and go straight to Better.

We just used Better for a refinance and they were amazing! The rate we got was unbeatable (like by .5% and about 8k in points), their tool to check out various rates/options is fantastic along with their online system. It's so easy to see what pieces you need to provide and everything is seamless! (When do you ever say that about banking?)

Cannot get anything done. All the workers lie to you about this and that and tell you things that are wrong. I upload the documents once, then they delete it and tell me to upload 6 documents again. Then they reset it to tell me to do it again.
You get thrown to 5 different associates to get one thing done and each person doesn't know what you just told the other person. Ask for so much information that no other company asks for and they don't even describe what they're asking for. Customer service is impossible to get in contact with on demand. You have to schedule appointments

I had a great experience with Better Mortgage in refinancing my property. The process was very efficient and straightforward, I didn't even have the need to call or talk to my Loan Officer. Everything went pretty fast and I am impressed with their loan portal/dashboard as you can leave a comment on each document you uploaded and they respond from there as well. I guess that's what makes it very efficient that they have this interactive feature on every document uploaded, other mortgage companies don't have that. Also, the whole team is really good at following up either by email, voicemail or text

Applied for a loan with better and everything seemed easy and I paid for my appraisal and made sure that if they would not approve me they would transfer the reports and all the documents to the new lender . They were very responsive and helpful until my loan officer jessica called and told me that my income wasn't enough and i might need to get a co-borrower or try some other place since then you feel like this company disappeared no answers no responses we have to email or call 10 times to get a response . It has been over a month now. We are asking for the appraisal proof of payment

Better.com is the worst kind of digital company. They want all of the cost savings associated with being an online only originator, but don't deliver at all on the experience. Be prepared for ridiculous delays (we will get back to you within 24 hours claim is a joke), being forced to submit the same documentation over and over again with no explanation, and in the end having random decisions with no reasonable explanation.

I had a great experience getting a loan for an investment property with Better Mortgage. The online process was efficient and frictionless. It was easy to e-sign documents and upload documents and check off tasks as you go. The interest rate was better than another competitor that I checked as well. The whole process could not have gone better and I will use Better Mortgage again for my next purchase.

The worst customer service I ever dealt with.
I applied to Better.com to refinance my home, rate lock July 26. The rate was great The problems started when I needed help with a request they made. I literally sent them everything that they requested and I had in terms of documents and also provided explanations on items that I did not have. On August 6 they requested a proof of estimated taxes that I paid. I replied on August 13, no estimated taxes were paid. Worst experience ever with the Better New York office.
Already missed the initial promised closing dates for more than two weeks, and we still struggling to close. Their attorney was also a nightmare, rude and incompetent. When we inquired for updates, they made up excuses and blamed on 'missing' documents they were already provided.
Never wrote a bad review previously, but don't want other people to experience what we are going through now.
Plus, their support@better.com and Client Managers only responded once, probably AI-generated.

This is a weird review for me, because this is the 2nd mortgage application I've gone through with Better.com.
The first experience (Spring 2019) was fantastic and easy. Everything went great and we closed on time. It went so well, that earlier this year, we decided to go back to Better.com for a 2nd mortgage (on another property)

First, I have to say, Better.com is PPP Paranoid.
We took out 1st and 2nd PPP loans to cover two months of low revenues in 2020. Mid 2020. By the time we applied for the loan this past March, those funds were long used and gone

Better is basically a very good UI and CRM company. They don't have actual lending/mortgage experience and not even actual customer service skills.
the agent assigned to my mortgage had sub 1 yr industry experience and her manager had sub 5.
Very unresponsive, very poor management of my fairly basic 30 year fixed loan application.
The good - their website and the rates they locked, but I ended up needing to switch lenders midstream because Better wasn't prepared to navigate a slight blip in the road. Good rates but not closing of a loan makes any benefit moot.
