Miguel the owner, is very knowledgeable and will remind you constantly that he is an engineer. However his customer service is terrible. They installed a unit in my house that didn’t work for 10 days. They finally came and fixed it. Then after less than a month it started malfunctioning this according to a third-party that diagnosed the air conditioner they put in was fatigued and not working properly. It literally stopped functioning. They came back to the house as it was still under warranty and tried to blame the existing air conditioner, the vents, a tree that was removed, everything but

I needed to replace my home's original HVAC and water heater, and after getting vague quotes from several companies in Palm Springs, I found Desert Tech—when a neighbor recommended its owner, Miguel. Miguel patiently explained what would work best in the condo, and after I made a choice of systems and products, he and his men speedily addressed the situation. Everyone in the desert should go with Desert Tech!!!
I was so impressed with Desert Tech! From start to finish was amazing! Miguel and his team are extremely knowledgable, professional and excellent follow thru.
I had met several other HVAC companies and most wanted me to replace my commercial air handler/heater. Several companies were quoting me a lot more than Desert Tech did. I ultimately saved a lot of money!!!!
Here are some of my problems with my unit:
1. Not enough cool air was flowing into my bedroom.
2. The thermostat was located facing the window towards the window.
3. No heat.

Not only are they knowledgeable in HVAC systems, which is essential, but even more important they treated me with genuine care and made sure I was completely satisfied with the work. In my case, I had Desert Tech install a home A/C unit as well as a furnace. They will ask you what it is you are looking to accomplish with your new A/C and/or furnace to meet not only your needs but recommend options that will meet your budget requirements. Very professional company! When I woke up one morning, it was 87 degrees in my house. I called my previous AC company that I had used in June, two months prior. I called 5 times and left messages. No reply. I called Desert Tech and the receptionist answered right away and was very cordial. She set me up that very day within 2 or 3 hours. Robert was the technician and he explained everything and checked every part of my AC unit, including Freon levels. The part he replaced was the capacitor for 64.84. It was the same part that was replaced 2 months prior only it was priced at 160.00. I recommend

Not easy finding good tech service for a higher end evaporative cooler.
My electricity bill usually runs less than $100 per month because I
use my cooler ALL summer long unless the dew point goes above 60
degrees. People don't believe me, but my cooler makes life so much
easier...leaving windows and doors open eliminating stuffy air caused
by A/C. I was searching for a good, reliable company, (that does not
offer some stupid "club plan" which is a total rip-off) and quite by
accident found Desert-tech.Their technician was so professional,
knowledgeable, and efficient I will use

I’ve been using Desert Tech for more than ten years now on several rentals in the desert area. They are reliable, knowledgeable and fair. I know that even when I’m out of town my renters will be taken care of in a timely manner and the job will be done right. Miguel has even offered me alternative money saving solutions to AC problems in the past. Katie is a pleasure to work with when trying to work around my renters schedules. This company ROCKS! The technicians and office staff are very professional and efficient.

I know I need to have my AC unit replaced soon, and I wouldn't go anywhere else except to Desert Tech to get this done. And their prices are reasonable too.

I have been a super satisfied customer of Desert Tech and Miguel since the early 1980s. I have a set of circumstances different from many of Miguel's Palm Springs area customers. I live in the Los Angeles area, a far cry from Cathedral City.
My most recent success story related to Desert Tech was the installation of an Ecobee3 thermostat on my HVAC (Dream System) Miguel and his crew installed in 2008. I was all prepared to install a Nest thermostat (purchased the Nest last December thru amazon.com). But, alas, I had never made the time to install it. The Nest sat, unopened, ready to be installed

I have used Desert tech in the past for servicing my refrigeration equipment and AC units. I always liked Miguel the owner and the guys seemed respectful and got the job done. However, all the things that recently occurred make me feel sort of used. First of all, within 24 hours of a routine service of the AC units I called Miguel to tell him of water pooling in the vent and leaking into the dining room. He said he'd call back and never did. I used Miguel and his team to replace a dual heating/cooling system that was 14 years old.
From the initial meeting, thru the engineering and install Miguel and his team were extremely knowledgeable and professional.
After running the system for a few days I was able to notice a 50% decrease in energy usage!

I've been using Desert Tech for at least two years now. Staff is knowledgeable, professional, good rates too. When I first hired them they pointed out a big gap on my AC unit that was allowing air to escape. Because of this the air wasn't cooling enough and the unit would keep running almost continuously. The serviceman went out of his way to fix it. After that I've had no problems. I service my unit twice a year, usually Miguel the owner calls you back to check and make sure everything was taken care of.
I will continue to use them and highly recommend them.
