Services
AV Preeminent(R): The highest peer rating standard. This rating signifies that a large number of the lawyer's peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence for their legal knowledge, communication skills and ethical standards. Derek Dean is dishonest in their practices. He knowingly sent documents to a wrong address, then added additional costs when discussing the financial impact related to the mistake.

These guys are criminal. Had to file an ethics complaint with SC Bar.
Placed a lien on my property due to his own error, then charged $1400 to remove without providing a single invoice. If you try to resolve like adults, he'll just keep adding fees at random until you buckle.
Just criminal, and waiting for a class action lawsuit to happen. I'm clearly not the only one they've done this to.

Similar to the other negative review here. HOA issues with horrible communication and what feels like extortion for more and more money for fees to handle past due HOA fees when I had recieved zero corresponde from my HOA directly. 700 worth of fees blew up to Simon and Dean trying to rip me for $2800. All the while barely providing statements except when I refused to pay without receiving one. An email asking for money is no way to do business. Tempted to write a letter to the SC Bar association and BBB. Its lawyers like these that generate the negative stereotypes around lawyers.

I only giving them a bad review because of the way Mr Derek F. Dean and Rose Montgomery handle HOA payments. Matthew is the guy to talk to if you deal with HOA payments. HE COOL! I want to be honest and transparent. Rose told me to call Simons and Dean and then Simon and Dean told me to called Rose of John Poston and Company. No one has time for the back and forth. I am sure their practices will change in the future! Because Simon and Dean going to hate the incoming HOA reviews for their practice! Peace!

Quite possibly the worst and least professional Attorneys office I have ever dealt with. This group is trying to tell me I should NOT contact a property owners association who I did not know even existed about dues they say I haven't paid this year (I have never made a payment to this entity for the 5 years I owned this home, always a monthly payment to the HOA). Then they want me to pay THEIR legal fees and threatened putting a lien on my house in the first day communicating! Obviously incorrect on many things when the office says we represent someone that the lawyer five minutes later says we
