We understand that making the many decisions which come at a time of loss can be difficult. We offer our support by providing you with two options as you consider making immediate arrangements. With online Arrangements, you can take your time to select the arrangements which are best for your preferences and budget.
Staff members of The Elms Funeral Home are caring and experienced professionals who understand that each family is unique and has personal requests and traditions. These requests and traditions are of utmost importance to our staff of licensed funeral directors. Eileen Baldeshwiler, originally of Lansing, Illinois, obtained her degree in Mortuary Science from Malcolm X College in 2012.
The Elms Funeral Home is a new facility. Construction was completed in the summer of 2010. The design is to offer the most comfort and privacy to a family suffering a loss. We arrange our services to care for one family an evening. A feature that guarantees your family will have the luxury of the funeral home exclusively.
Most of us plan ahead in life. We plan for our wedding, our children's education, family vacations, and other significant expected life events. We also plan for the unexpected events of life by purchasing home, auto and medical insurance. All of the people at elms are so caring.
I was here in Australia when my mum passed on 12/2....they took care of her until she was buried on 9/2...by then I'd talked to them all....
including the guy with the undertakers voice at midnight...HE didn't mind at all...he had my mum in his care and he was wonderful....the Welsh man who calmed me more than once and helped me grieve with photos....cas I couldnt be there and luke who there on the day.
the lady who answered the phone immediately knew who I was, maybe my Ozzie accent, maybebecause they know who's in their care and the people that are

I can even begin to say how Wonderful working with Michael Rominski from Elm Funeral home was during our difficult time . Michael was everything you could imagine and more! He was warm, kind, loving, compassionate, informative, knowledgeable and most of all trustworthy!! He went above and beyond anything I could ask for, and more. Everything was Beautiful and ran perfectly!..

One of the best funeral homes I've ever been to. They were so hepful and friendly and went out of their way to help us with whatever they could to make this sorrowful time a little less stressful. Also they way they fixed up my mom was beautiful She looked exactly like herself!!! I would highly recommend this funeral home to everyone

The Elms Funeral Home was compassionate, caring and very helpful during this difficult time. They worked with me on packages that were affordable and kept my informed on every step prior to the funeral. During the service they were there for any needs but kept their distance to allow us privacy. Our director, Spencer was great. I would highly recommend this facility.

The best experience I have ever had for such a hard thing to go through. This place has such a family feel to it and they have your heart and everything in mind, especially Karen. Our family suffered a sudden loss and never thought we would be planning a funeral. In researching and visiting funeral homes nothing was good enough. When I walked into the Elms Funeral Home, I had a feeling that it could not be anywhere else. It was bright, inviting and intimate. The staff are phenomenal in every way, they are welcoming, professional, empathetic, and caring. There is only one chapel which allows privacy and a sense of comfort during this process. I buried my mother in law back in August. For beginners, funerals are never easy especially for the immediate family. However, to the families surprise, the place was beyond beautiful. We couldnt pass up the opportunity to bury my mother in law in such a beautiful place like the queen that she was. By far the most beautiful funeral home I have seen. It had such a calming feel upon walking in. I loved how we got to set up our own pictures. The place was very spacious and was very private which I appreciated. It was very clean. We recently lost a loved one and decided to manage the services through The Elms after some research. We've had experiences with other facilities in the area and I have to say that this was by far the best experience we've had. The staff is excellent, and in particular the funeral director Mike was outstanding and very caring and empathetic. The facility is new and quite beautiful and comfortable inside and out. Never thought to review a funeral home, but feel the need to. I went to a few wakes at The Elms and was impressed by their welcoming chapel. It is very intimate, as they only have one viewing room, so there is no intermingling with other families, the place is all yours. So when my mother passed away, we decided to go to The Elms. Most funeral homes are the same--the same look, the same feel, the same smell. This is the one that is different. This is the one that you are really comfortable in, the one that feels like you are welcoming people into your home. And more than that, this is the one that "your guests" aren't in a hurry to leave. I agree with the other review on here. My brother passed away August 22nd. I was a little surprised when they came to pick up his body (he died at home) they didn't even say anything to me as they were leaving, which I thought was weird. I went to arrange his cremation, and got called daily for his life insurance paperwork so they could get paid for their services. When I got it, I dropped it off there and no one even knew why I was there. I sat down with someone to tell them why I was there and give them the paperwork, which I pulled out of an envelope with some other paperwork of mine
