Drug addiction is a complex illness characterized by intense and at times, uncontrollable drug cravings, along with compulsive drug-seeking behaviors. This behavior results from prolonged exposure on brain functioning. Addiction is a brain disease that affects multiple brain circuits, including those involved in reward and motivation, learning and memory and inhibitory control over behavior.
Not all substance abuse counselors are DOT qualified Substance Abuse Professionals (SAP). A DOT qualified SAP is required to have specialized training, credentialing and continuing education on drugs and alcohol per DOT CFR 49 Part 40 guidelines.

A substance abuse evaluation is required for everyone who is convicted while driving impaired. We work with you and ensure your information is processed in a timely manner with complete confidentiality. A court ordered evaluation may be necessary. If you have been charged with minor possession of alcohol or drugs, you may be ordered to undergo an evaluation.
