Services
This funeral home was established in the early 1850's by the Grant family. In 1923, Mr. Joseph R. Grant purchased the current location as his residence and added a funeral parlor in 1935. He continued to operate the Grant Funeral Home until his retirement in 1963. Paul R. "Bobby" Crouch purchased the funeral home in 1963 and operated it until his death in 1983.
Debbie enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening, westerns and loved animals. Survivors include her loving husband of 23 years: James Jianniney, Jr.; her children: Jamie. Herbert served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy and retired from Cecil College, North East, MD.
For over 165 years, Crouch Funeral Home, P.A. has provided the highest level of professionalism, care and compassion to the families we serve. Losing a loved one is never easy. We treat each and every family with the upmost respect and kindness. Our continuing tradition of quality, excellence and attention to detail are qualities you will find in all members of our staff.
There was a time when death was handled in the home, and people took care of their family members' remains before the burial and cremation. In the early twentieth century, private funeral homes emerged where the remains were embalmed and laid out for viewings and services. Beginning in the early ninety's, there was a surge of corporate funeral homes.

I attended a funeral at the Crouch Funeral Home today. This review is from the point of view of someone attending the funeral, not the bereaved family.
The funeral home is small, but very nicely decorated. There is both street parking nearby and a parking lot right behind the facility. The service was dignified, the sound system worked perfectly, and the lighting was neither too dark or too bright.
Mr. Crouch, the owner, greeted attendees at the door and made the service start reasonably close to the scheduled time without intruding himself into the ceremony any more than is customary in the
