Worst move ever. Ruined a bunch of furniture & boxed items. One mover barley did anything, was in his phone the whole time or stood around waiting for the other guy to tell him what to do. The move took twice as long and cost a fortune. Everything was packed and ready to go so they literally just needed to pack it on the truck and unpack it and it took them over 8 hours. I have a one bedroom apartment.

DO NOT USE THIS RIP-OFF OF A COMPANY! VKH Movers LLC has damaged furniture, overcharged me for time that they literally just stood around not knowing how to move an item because of its size, did not fully move my items into the desired location (left in a garage and not in the house), and overpromised the quality of work and the skillset of their… employees. I even had to hire a second moving company to finish the job that they were too inept to complete, DESPITE me specifically asking about a particularly oversized item and showing pictures of the item so they had a sense of the size. Whatever you do, do not hire VKH to move anything of yours. My move was scheduled August 25, 2021. A couple of days before my move, I contacted Sean on 8/23/2021 to verify everything was in order including the pick-up places and drop offs; Sean gave a very unprofessional attitude with the end of the verification being Sean hanging up on me and not following through with sending me what the pickup place and times were going to be. If it wasn't for the down deposit I had already paid, I would've cancelled my move with VKH right there and then.

I used VKH about a month ago to move from Silver Spring to Gaithersburg. I had used them a year earlier for another short local move and they had been quite good. This time I ended up with 2 movers and needed 3. One of the movers attempted to move my couch by himself and made a golf ball size hole in the wall of apartment I was leaving. At the same time he broke the light switch on the same wall. He did not tell me this had happened but did not deny it when I asked. VKH Movers are the worst! I have used several local moving companies in the past and these guys are by far the worst I have ever used. Extremely unprofessional, slow, and inconsiderate of breakable/fragile items. They also FORGOT several items in the apartment! Horrible service from these guys and I cannot stress enough how bad my experience with them was. I will not be using them again and I hope any potential customers take this as a warning. I recommend spending the extra money to use someone like College Hunks Hauling Junk - those guys are great and I regret not using them this time around

I would give VKH zero stars if possible. To start, the crew showed up with no masks in the midst of a pandemic. The crew broke 2 of my floor lamps (worth $300) and dropped my spin bike creating a dent in the… floor and chipping the wood surface of the condo I was moving out of. Before traveling to the my new residence, the driver double checked the travel/traffic time on google maps with me (it was 90 minutes), but they didn't arrive at my house until nearly 3 hours later (as an FYI - it only took me 1 hour to arrive at the new location) and then VKH charged me an additional 1.25 hours of

VHK got the job done on budget and they took great care with my things, particularly the assembly of my bed and dresser. They were easy to get in contact with and kept the lines of communication open the day of the move. They get four stars b/c they were a little late and a little slow, but I would move with them again.

Fast-forward to my delivery. Initially everything was OK but once I had a chance to inspect everything there was soom damage to some of my furniture and one of my computer screens was damaged. I contacted the company and they sent me a claims form, which I filled out along with pictures and I haven't heard anything. I've made several attempts with no luck.

They no-showed today for my parent's move. We are a military family, and know plenty well the stress of moving. My father has a portable oxygen tank and is physically unable to do any heavy lifting, so my parents hired VKH to help load their moving truck. Save yourself the time & money & book another moving company if you're in Northern Virginia. It seems like they have a track record of overbooking & notified us a half hour before they were suppose to show that they weren't available to move us. They then hired a third party to do it, which showed up without materials, HOURS late, and took 9 hours to move us 1 mile away. One of us even threw our back out and had to go to urgent care. We are hoping our stuff isn't broken. Currently we are trying to negotiate the price because the quote for professional service was clearly not met. No one is returning

We had an early start, around 7:30a, in Woodbridge VA and finished by 9:30p same day in Greensboro, NC. With an extra stop in-between.
They wrapped all big furniture, TVs, and everything got to us in one piece. When we had a bit of an issue with payment at the end they were very understanding and patient while we figured out the problem. (Tip: Check your daily spending limits before making big purchases!)
I would recommend this company to others and would use them again myself in the event of another big move.

First, my move was scheduled for January 1, 2021 from 8am-9am. I confirmed the date and time with Sean. Based upon Sean's confirmation, I scheduled time for the loading dock at my new apartment and informed my landlord of the time I would be out based upon your company's 2 hour estimate. I scheduled the loading dock for 11am, factoring in the 2 hour estimate to pack a 1 bedroom apartment (of which I stated the pieces of furniture I had ) and then 30 minutes for driving. All boxes were packed, and to make it easier I had all boxes stacked in a manor so that it would be easy to just slip

I can’t say enough about how great these guys are! The gave us a fantastic rate for a 2BR apt with 3 flights of stairs and we had a large number of books to move. They were on time, efficient, courteous, professional. They wrapped all large items and moved everything quickly with no damage whatsoever in the POURING RAIN!!! Worst experience I have ever had with movers. Please go elsewhere.
I hired them for a cross-country move from DC to LA. One-bedroom apartment, fairly straightforward.
The issues:
- Arrived 2 hours late.
- Did not wrap my furniture in blankets. Completely destroyed my couch and shattered the glass on my vanity. Wood on my bookcase gashed.
- It took them an extremely long time to pack up my apartment. There was no sense of urgency. At one point, I went downstairs to take a walk around the block because I was so anxious. When I came back, one of the movers was laying on top of my dresser, just

We booked this company after two home visits where they assessed how much stuff we had and quoted us based on that for packing services and moving services. We told them that since I am pregnant, we would pack as much as we could and leave fragile items for them to pack, professionally and then some things would go to the new house and most everything would go to storage which was less than 5mins away. I shopped around to find some decent priced movers and although VKH was a little more expensive than some other quotes I recieved, since I used them before and they were excellent, I decided to go with them.
The movers was very friendly, but extremely slow. Last time I used this company, I moved a one bedroom apartment with all my furniture in 2 hours max. This time, I sold all my furniture prior to the move so the only big piece I had was the bed, a night

They were the most responsive to our last minute moving inquiry (via Thumbtack). Other movers quoted us outrageous estimates.
