Takai Mine Karate Inc. has been open since 1985, in Albuquerque, NM, and provides martial arts classes for ages three and up. Our school offers group (online and in-person) and private lessons. We teach four styles of martial arts: Tae Kwon Do, Derobio Escrima, Shoto Kan, and Shorin Ryu. Our program focuses on improving our students' lives one kick at a time.
Martial Arts training can help relieve stress from our everyday lives. Our focus is to teach our students Courtesy, Honesty, Integrity, Perseverance, and Self-Control (CHIPS). Tae Kwon Do or Tae-kwon-Do is a Korean martial art, characterized by its emphasis on head-height kicks, jumping spinning kicks, and fast kicking techniques.

Services
Please start telling everyone about our fundraiser so they can save their yard sale items for you. We are asking every student to donate at least 10 items. Items can be brought to Takai Mine during any class. He won gold in WT Forms, TSD Forms, Creative Forms, Weapons, Breaking, and Creative Weapons.

I met Master Chavez back in the mid 90s as an 11 year old black belt in Taekwondo, who had just moved to New Mexico. She was such an amazing instructor and helped guide me to the Junior Olympic. Here 25 years later, she still has made a lasting impression and memories. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to learn martial arts or compete at a national level in Taekwondo!

We've had all three of our kids practicing martial arts with Grand Master Chavez for the last 6 years. GM Chavez not only demonstrates incredible skill--she is one of the highest ranked belts in the Albuquerque area and has been practicing since 1978-but her commitment, care, and passion for the children is unparalleled.
