Our riverfront, beautiful building is an important part of Chicago's historic Loop. Constructed in 1912, it was the headquarters of D.B. Fisk & Co., the country's largest wholesale millinery. Look closely and you'll see how we pay homage to Chicago and our hat-factory past while adding distinct Kimpton twists; in the guestrooms and suites look for our distinctive brass hat hooks as well as our vintage-style hatbox honor bar.

Our stay at the Kimpton Monaco Hotel was flawless. Everyone was nice, friendly and professional. They served complimentary wine, tea and coffee from 5pm to 6pm daily. The meals in the restaurant were delicious. The room was very clean with a beautiful Riverwalk view. Antonio and Hector were the best.. They were so knowledgeable about downtown Chicago and helped us safely get to our destinations throughout our stay. We can't wait to return.

This hotel went above and beyond our expectations!!! Their sales manager, Austin, was so quick to respond to our requests and emails before during and after our event and stay there. Valet parking was in transition and not ideal but they worked so hard to ensure our guests had a good experience none the less. The hotel is just adorable and so accommodating. The free coffee and wine reception were the prime example of midwest hospitality! Thanks you Kimpton Hotel Monaco Chicago!!

If I could give this hotel 10 stars I definitely would. I stayed at Monaco Hotel back mid November. I been working all day and week at the hospital and all I wanted to do was relax well on my way to the hotel I got turned around and if you know anything about Downtown Chicago it can really can be tricky, and I was literally in tears and frustrated, so I reached out to the hotel to see if they could assist me in finding there location, and I spoke with Ronald the manager he was amazing so pleasant and understanding along with patience he calmed me down and reassured me that everything would be okay

Would have liked to give this place a 4 or 5 star review but we were not able to stay. We had a confirmed reservation for a 5 night stay but in spite of presenting ID, credit cards, etc we were told by the reception lady that she could not find our reservation. So here we were 2000 miles from home and no place to stay. Turns out the problem was a glitch in their reservation system. Seems everyone who had a "Mr" in front of their name had the last name of "Mr" in their system. The lady at the reception desk apparently could not figure this out. She did not offer us any

This was our first trip to Chicago and the Kimpton Hotel Monaco did not disappoint. What beautiful views of the Chicago River! The room was clean and super cute decor. And the bed.... OH MY GOODNESS..... there's a reason they have an online shop selling those mattresses.... We still talk about how that was the best sleep of our life.

I just returned from a Three night stay at the Kimpton Monaco in Chicago Illinois. I was immediately greeted by Antonio. He was extremely pleasant helpful ,professional, and personable. After driving for over four hours it was so pleasant to be greeted with such warmth. As for the rest of the staff just to mention a few, Jesus, Jovan, Sonya, Caroline, Dion Hector Alexandra, Ron and the Fisk and Co staff including, Paul, Manny, and Aram. You are a wonderful team and I loved every moment I stayed with Kimpton.

Gorgeous hotel! We came to Chicago for a long weekend vacation. The location is perfect for seeing many parts of the city. The train is easily accessible so getting to/from airport was super easy. Highly recommend a river facing room, I could spend hours sitting in the window seat watching the river and the streets of Chicago!

This hotel was not good. First the parking situation was extremely expensive $50 a day. Pretty much all parking down town is this way I suppose. The people checking you in are not friendly at all. Borderline rude and arrogant to be honest. The hotel interior decoration in very dated and old especially the room. It was old carpet and you could feel large uneven gaps in the floor underneath the ugly carpet. The wallpaper was hideous. The bathroom was dirty. There was urine film in the toilet bowl from not cleaning it. There was not enough towels. The bed had a bad odor. I tried to get out of staying

From the moment we walked in until our late evening checkout our 2 day stay at Kimpton Hotel Monoco was spectacular. The front desk clerk Abdul made sure we had everything we needed and was very friendly and welcoming. Our room was immaculately clean and fresh. The hot chocolate Friday night and the wine happy hour with a socially distanced plan was tasty. The view from our room was world class and for a staycation was a very welcome view. I couldn't more highly recommend staying at Hotel Monaco for a Staycation or Vacation when visiting Chicago. Â So grateful for such a great weekend!

This is truly one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. Gorgeous rooms with high ceilings, a beautiful large window seat inside the room we got on the 11th floor to enjoy the views of the river, and extremely clean with nice amenities. They even said they had humidifiers if we needed them! Very friendly front desk staff. Wish there was some coffee, but otherwise, an excellent stay -- and at reasonable prices because it's Winter in Chicago and no indoor dine-in restaurants. It's also a great location though because the metro stops are nearby and so is Millenial park

Awesome hotel in an awesome location! 2 blocks to most L lines, 3 from the Blue line to/from O'hare. Nicely updated. Staff was friendly, we were upgraded to a very spacious suite overlooking the Chicago River, it was awesome. They have neat benches in their deep window sills where you can just sit and gaze out on the city. Nice gym with a Peloton bike and spacious lobby to wait for your delivered food (We were here when indoor dining was restricted). I will stay here again!!

My husband and I came out for a short staycation. He's a law enforcement officer and I work in tech so we've both been steadily working (AND BUSY) during this whole COVID thing. I had been here once years ago and was looking forward to my visit. As I approached the hotel, I felt everything falling into place. We arrived here on wed after not sleeping for an entire day.
When you walk up, from the outside the hotel didn't look like much. When you walk in it's like a hidden castle. It's very sleek and nice and clean. When we met the front desk clerk, he was so nice.
We walked up to our room and it was very pretty. They even have a window that has a bed like mattress on it so you can people watch in your room.
So far this place is great.

Had such a wonderful experience at Hotel Monaco for my Christmas trip. We initially picked this hotel because it is dog friendly - and that, they truly are! They gave my dog attention every time we walked in, pet him, and even remembered his name. This was his first hotel stay so it was nice to be warmly received like this as guests. My one complaint is that we had to ask the front desk multiple times for the same items. It didn't seem like the hotel was very full so it was frustrating to ask for towels and have to wait like 3 hours. Daily housekeeping did not come until late into the afternoon

We stayed here New Year's Eve in a suite on the 4th floor. We (and our pets) enjoyed the hotel, wine hour and dinner at Fisk & Co very much. We walked on the Riverwalk several times as it it so close to this location.
The room was beautiful, clean and loved the decor. Everyone, from the valet, front desk and housekeeping were fantastic to work with and add to the elegant but relaxed feel of this hotel. We will be back in 2020 for sure!

Great location and place to stay if you want to be in the heart of the city. We stayed here mainly because we had a show at The Chicago Theatre, which is just a block away. Really short walk to the theater but it's also in a perfect spot to walk to Michigan Avenue and Millennium Park.
The hotel feels like it's been completely renovated recently. Our room felt brand new. The lobby was nicely decorated, sort of an upscale country feel.
Apparently they have a happy hour or wine tasting every day at 5, and there is a bar / restaurant just off the lobby which we ate at..

My stay here recently was smooth and comfortable. From check-in to check-out, everyone that I interacted with was in the true Kimpton, "service first" spirit. I wasn't in my room much at all outside of showering and sleeping. But when I was in there, the amenities provided full comfort. My room also boasted a river view, which was nice!
One thing that I did think was interesting was the texts that upon check-in. They were totally just inquiring about how my room was or how my stay was, but since it was signed just by a man's name

The Kimpton never disappoints! Always clean and stylish! We stayed here because it was very close to the Chicago Theater--just a couple blocks away. There is a restaurant located in the hotel, but we did not go there. The staff was really nice and even upgraded us upon arrival. Cute little window seat with a view. There are many restaurants very close to this hotel so you def won't go hungry. Parking is right next door for $58 for overnight, unfortunately, that's typical Chicago pricing.
We would def stay here again in the future.
