Dr. Gary Gold & Associates have been serving the Sunnyvale area for over thirty-five years!. The goal of our office is to provide professional full service eye-care. The practice is almost 59 years old, the oldest small business in downtown Sunnyvale. Our office has grown through the years providing state of the art eye-care and a style oriented eyewear Boutique named "Style Eyes Optique."

At Dr. Gary Gold & Associates, our goal is promote good eye health and enable you to have the clearest vision possible. We accept several types of vision insurance, cash, checks, and most credit cards. We inform our Sunnyvale patients about exam and treatment costs at the beginning of your appointment.
Dr. Gold assumed ownership of the practice in 1981 and retained the same loyal patient base, even developing it into a thriving primary eyecare office. After being in practice for over 20 years, we anticipate only further growth and success for the practice without compromising patient care and dedication.
Dr. Ann Kinoshita became our associate doctor in 1993. Graduated from California School of Optometry, Berkeley, in 1991, she completed a primary care residency with an emphasis on ocular disease from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, Philadelphia. Dr Kinoshita is a member of the American Optometric Association, the California Optometric Association and the Santa Clara County Optometric Society.

The optometrists are really nice and good but they keep trying to increase billables by adding costs that other optometrists dont. Contact lens exams for $40 despite good VSP coverage is unlike what others do. They also charged my wife for retinal screening without informing her that it will be extra. If you are willing to ask whether every item will cost extra or okay with suprise bills, you can consider going there for the good optometrists.
Edit- They reached out and refunded the retinal screening charge that was mistakenly charged when vsp covers it for my wife.

Dr. Nicholas Froumis has done excellent eye exams for the last 3 years. He is the best eye Dr. I’ve had in 20 years. He listened to what I need for my lifestyle and set me up with the best lenses I have ever had. No chromatic aberrations, extremely clear and comfortable. I was doing astronomy with some students and I could make out 6 stars in the Orion Trapezium Cluster when the observers I was with could only see 4.

There’s something wrong with this place.
Walked in with my sun and asked about repairing his eye glasses.The lady on reception took and wrote down my and my son’s info( first and last name and cell phone number) then she says “go and wait outside in your car and I’ll call you “
We went outside (we don’t have a car i don’t drive) decided to wait and walk outside
And we walked over 3-4-5 hours in that neighborhood waiting for their phone call.,and she never did.We were walking and freezing outside for so many hours and we never get a phone call from them( as she had promised)

I had been with the clinic for many years when dr.gold & other senior docs were there. Now the place is not worth my recommendations. Optometry was always a headache , and now they have gotten worse with even picking up $800 price glasses. Very disappointed to see this place morph. I most definitely don’t recommend the optometry services. Falls very short.

Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Optometrist and person who took pictures were really friendly, helpful and willing to hear all questions and answered them. Spent quite a lot of time in analysis (which is good) and explaining why each step is done. I see a few reviews stating pricy frames and staff pushing to buy fancy frames. I did not need to buy a frame for this visit but I did not feel staff being pushy even though doctor had marked lens as optional.

Dr. Gold & Associates is by far the best eye doctor I have ever visited. They have state of art equipment and a very professional staff. Dr. Gold also has the latest styles of eye ware. If you must wear glasses at least you can look good in them. This office believes this as well so they even provide a eyeglass stylist. Stephanie is a wonderful stylist and gives you full attention and care while helping you to chose the best eyeglasses. I love all the compliments on my glasses and happily refer people to Dr. Gold and Associates!
