Services
Proper eye care is important for people of all ages and regular eye exams are encouraged for everyone, but especially for those already using glasses or contact lenses. Your vision plays a vital role in your life each and every day, which is why it is so important to take the right steps for maintaining good eye health.
New patients keep our business growing, so we are always proud to offer high quality optometry services to our patients. We understand that your first visit to the eye doctor can feel overwhelming and we try to accommodate all new patients with a comfortable and organized facility. Our goal is to cover everything you need with a full and efficient assessment, but without waiting to see the doctor.
Soft contact lenses are made of flexible plastics that allow oxygen to pass through to your cornea. Many people find soft contacts easier to get used to than the rigid type. Some newer soft lens types can provide even more oxygen to the eye. The big advantage of soft contact lenses is they are often more comfortable initially and take less time getting used to.
These are lenses with one working distance only. For kids and adults 40 and under it can be used for all ranges. But for those who need a specific working distance it can be used just for reading, computer, or anything that works with the prescription required. The lenses of bifocals have two different optical powers that work with two distance ranges.
Dr. Lodenquai provides a complete eye exam for children. The exam includes a detailed physical and ocular history and a thorough evaluation of the visual system including the refractive state of the eyes (this determines whether you need glasses or not). The teaming of the two eyes (how well the eye balls work together to offer clearer vision).

The staff at Altos Family Optometry are very friendly and really knowledgeable about the services and products they offer, as well as the various insurance plans. The doctor was very patient explaining all the various options for glasses, contacts, etc. It's a beautiful, bright place with a good selection of glasses and clean, attractive facilities. All the equipment they have looks like it's the latest and greatest; they have some really cool machines I've never even seen before. A great place for a geek like me to look at all the technology :)
