We had an amazing experience working with Liz Zeman, our realtor to buy our home in Durham, NC. Due to spike in COVID cases, we were unable to travel to check out our future homes. We went through a pretty large cross-country move recently from Arizona to North Carolina and thought we found the perfect realtor when combing over reviews; we were very wrong, quite quickly our experience became a nightmare. I am an overly attached (ok - hovering) mom of a wonderful 25-year-old daughter. Last year my daughter decided she was ready to purchase her first home. She met Debra, and being the invasive over-protecting mom I am, I had to meet Debra too. My daughter has been working since the age of 16 and is not going to be Debra's biggest sale of the year... quite the contrary. I am positive she may be one of the smallest commissions. I recently purchased a home using a Fonville Morisey Realtor. I felt that D.M was not always promoting my (the buyers) best interests as stated in the realtors contract that she requested I sign. The first issue was that I wasn’t shown very many options for homes. Many of those that I did look at were ones that I had suggested. Our experience with JR Knotts at Fonville was nothing short of amazing! We were unfamiliar with the area and he helped us navigate what we wanted until we found the perfect home. I recently decided to make my first home purchase and contacted Andrea Hirth at Fonville Morisey to help me shop around. Andrea paid close attention to the features I was looking for in a house. I gave her the upper limit of price that I was able to spend, and she found a very large range of houses at many different prices - I got to see some very inexpensive foreclosures, some mid-range houses that had potential, and some that were closer to the top of my price limit. I really appreciated that she found a range rather than just choosing houses at the top limit.
