Services
Board certified ophthalmologist A.K. Gulati, MD joined the Buffalo Eye Center in 1991. After buying the practice in 1998, he built a new facility encompassing medical and surgical eye care, routine eye exams, and fashionable eyewear under one roof. Dr. Gulati graduated summa cum laude from the State University of New York at Buffalo, where he also completed his medical school training and ophthalmology residency.
Eye care is not a "one size fits all" type of treatment. Everyone is different and needs to be tended to differently. Did not have a good experience. Learn from my ignorance. These people are totally money hungry. Please people before you sign anything. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE READ IT FIRST! Also have them explain everything that you are signing before signing. They will tell you one thing about the monies due and then when it comes to paying it is not what you expect. Also some other fishy things went on with my experience. All I am going to say is check out other Optical’s and Eye doctors in a small radius of this place.

Received a letter in the mail that my account would be sent to collections for $16.66 for an appointment I had in July. Never received a single bill or phone call, and assumed it was still processing through insurance (not uncommon to take a month or two). The woman on the phone said they sent me six letters, which is very hard to believe that within a two month timeframe, six letters were sent, and I did not receive a single one of them (6 apparently) but received the “collection” letter without issue. I am a polite patient - always on time, often waiting up to an hour for most appointments

When I called and asked if they took Medicaid they said
Yes. I went and had my exam then asked to see what eyeglass frame I could choose from
It was then I was told that they eyeglass optomistrist does it except Medicaid.
This was not told to me when I called.
Add to that I waited over 30.mins

I called to make an appt for my wife who is deaf. Right away I was met with resistance because someone would have to have their mask down so she could read their lips. I now know why they gave me a hard time, Buffalo Eye Center does not want deaf or handicap patients! The technician we met with had a clear face shield that was clearly in used condition so there was no issue with pulling a face mask down, they just don't want deaf business. Further proof of this is that they kept us waiting for 35 minutes in the first waiting room, then after 25 minutes in the 2nd waiting room, Dr Gulati skipped

This place is a scam There's no other way to say it, I simply went in because I have a scratched Cornea, I already knew that's what it is, because it's been like this for 7 years now, I told him I didnt have insurance that if any test needed to be done talk to me first, so he puts a light in my eyes says yep its scratched. I said ok can you sign the tint paper the lightbhirts my eyes bad. He says " oh no we dont do that here ". Takes me to the front and they tell me I owe $130 for them to talk to me and tell me what I already know....... long story short waste of time and money never ever again

Had a appointment today. Temp at door, questions about COVID-19, shields up at reception desk, seats spaced out. Everyone masked up. Bottom line I was seen by the doctor !! He is very safe and checked my eyes out completely. He talks and asks you questions, make sure your are taking care of your eyes. I will be back in 6 months. If you need a eye doctor pick this one.

I highly recommend Buffalo Eye Store to anyone who needs glasses and contacts. The staff is so nice, professional and helpful. They have a huge selection of glasses and sunglasses to choose from. I came here for an eye abrasion. My 10 month old daughter scratched me terribly. The pain was insane and unbearable. The staff was AMAZING. They gave me numbing drops while i waited. Doctor G was amazing!! My wait was short. He gave me a bandage contact lense for my eye. And i am finally healing from this nightmare! Thank you for actually caring & making this horrible experience a little better.

I had the absolute best experience with everyone at the Buffalo Eye Center. Maria took complete care of me and she was wonderful through every step of the process. She found me a style of glasses that I have received nonstop compliments with. I would recommend the experts at The Buffalo Eye Center to anyone. Dr Gulati also corrected my vision by adjusting a previous prescription that was not as strong as I needed.

Had an eyelid tuck a couple of years ago with Dr. Barbarossa. He did a horrible job and I can still see the scar on my right eye!! Such a condescending attitude and I don't recommend him at all! My eyelids need to be done over! Big mistake with this idiot!! The only good thing about this place is the waiting room!

I would like to say that Buffalo Eye Center's business practice is unethical.I will start out by saying that there are to many receptionist's that work there that sit around and do nothing.2nd when i went up and signed in they asked me for my insurance card and i gave it to them.Then they tell me my deductible was not met and that i would have to pay the full amount of the visit,I told them my deductible was met and they kept on telling me it didn't say that on there computer.So i was ready to walk out and this one lady out of 4 says to me we can settle for 20% for now and if there
