Baybrooke Village Care and Rehabilitation Center in McKinney provides high quality respite care for you or your loved one, when you need it. Respite care provides temporary relief for family caregivers who are caring for people with disabilities, special needs or who are simply aging. Caring for a loved one in the home can be a very rewarding experience but it can also be an overwhelming and exhausting undertaking.
When you find yourself between hospital-level care and returning to your home and work, our short-term rehab program is the perfect place to regain your health and get back on your feet. Our short-term rehab services can help bridge-the-gap between the hospital and home and allow you to cultivate the necessary skills to lead an independent lifestyle.
For those unable to live independently at home we offer medically supervised long term care. Typically, people in need of this type of service require long-term, 24-hour care by a team of skilled clinicians including nurses, physical therapists, and occupational therapists. The most common needs of residents at skilled nursing centers include daily medical management, and assistance with activities of daily living.

I will start off by saying that all nursing homes and elderly care facilities in general have a lot of improving to do. However, I cannot put into words the amount of help and genuine compassion my family has found in this facility. My father became extremely ill a few months ago and through a series of events he has ended up here twice in the rehab side and both times people here, particularly the social worker Ann, have jumped through hoops to help my father. We have dealt with a number of different hospitals over the last couple months and I understand now that finding people who actually want

I was highly disappointed, my mother-in-law was on 100 hall. We called to gather more info on re- admitting her for further rehabilitation only to find out that the CNA Denise was no longer employed at the facility, we are very saddened because she handled my mother-in-law with such care and compassion, not only my mother-in-law, we observed Denise's enter action with other patients and family members showing the same love, care, and compassion. Because she's no longer at baybrooke we have chosen not to return. Does anyone have her contact info, or knows if she's employed at another facility? I

I had my mother here for right at 3 weeks after a hospital stay. Initially the one nurse we had was phenomenal but later found out it wasn’t consistent. I went in at different times of day and found that it reeked of urine u see patients sitting in the dining room with puddles of pee and staff walking around them. But if u come on a holiday the cleaning supplies smell prominent. My mother was in the skilled part to gain mobility and because her nurse didn’t want to take the time to spot her in the bathroom told her to use her depends and she would change her later. We were told she can walk

My mother was transferred from the hospital to Baybrooke after a severely sickness. I was worried and not sure if she would adjust there because she cannot speak or understand English. Thank you Denise, for helping my mom in the most polite way possible, and making her feel comfortable in your care, keeping her clean and your concern for her well being. Even though they both don’t speak each other’s languages, Denise found a way to communicate with my mom without even talking. We appreciate everyone at the Baybrooke taking care of her. She came home after 1 month stay and misses everyone and

I had to stay here after I had surgery on my hip. The initial greeting was great, and I was helped in my room, which was satisfactory and clean. However, I waited nearly 12 hours just to get ice water. I also couldn’t get pain medication when I needed it. CNAs would come in if I hit my light, turn off the call light, then leave. Unacceptable! When I had to have a second surgery on my hip, I chose to stay somewhere else. The difference between the two places was striking. I chose not to stay there a second time, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone I cared about. I don’t like giving bad reviews

The Best Care facility my Mother has been at the last 3 years. We moved her there a few months ago and she gets great care and much kindness from the aides, they call her Mama and throw kisses at her which she loves. She cannot walk but knows everything thats going on. If there is anything she needs I call and immediately it gets noticed and resolved. The entire staff is very helpful and they care about our concerns. The New Director Chris is great and cares about his residents and the families having peace of mind that their loved ones are cared for. I go there daily so I see that every staff

Most of the staff at Baybrooke are nice and professional, however this faculty is severely understaffed, severely.
The building itself is completely neglected. Broken lights, old smelly furniture, old beds, old shredding towels, ripped sheets, old and drab banged up walls. It reminds me of cheap barrio hotels I stayed in Mexico in the 90s.
It's a completely depressing environment.
Spare yourself.
There is a smell throughout the building which lingers on your clothes once you leave.
Outside the building we counted 11 wasps nests on the window eves near the entrance!

My mother was admitted to Baybrooke after a fall. I was very unhappy the first day. Her oxygen machine was loud and no remote for the TV. I know these are small things but when you are stuck in bed alone, they are important. I had a talk with the administrator and all of my concerns were addressed. The Director of nursing Gode, also kept a close watch on Mom and helped communicate with the doctors that came. Mom had the best helper, Denise. We were concerned when Mom was out of quarantine that she would have another caregiver. But Denise stayed with us for over 2 weeks. I knew mom was watched over

The only reason I’m giving a 5 star is because of Denise. She needs to be cloned or be the one training a lot of the CNA’s on compassion for your loved one. She was the ONLY reason my mother was comfortable here. She made my mom feel human. She treats you as she would want to be treated.
On another note I was not happy with my mother’s experience here, however I can say when I addressed issues with Bree, Taylor, and a few other people (my apologies for forgetting names) the issues were looked into. The facility itself is nice and clean from what I saw. Night staff leaves much to be desired

After being diagnosed with Small Cell Lung Cancer and going through several medical procedures at Baylor due to various complications.
My mom spent 2-weeks in their rehabilitation program to rebuild her strength for her upcoming chemotherapy. And found everyone to be extremely friendly.
There were a few issues, which we were happy to see management quickly resolved.
My remaining items would be to upgrade, the meals and changes to the parking with more spots in the front lot.
